The headline result is troubling enough on its own. But looking beneath the surface raises a question that is considerably harder to answer: how does Germany chart a path to economic recovery when 47% of Berlin voters aged 16 to 25 have concluded that the left-wing party is the answer to whatever question they were asking? The younger generation in Berlin has, in considerable numbers, voted for a platform that prioritises extracting value from the system over contributing to it. And no, the AfD is not the solution either.
