Before reaching your take-profit level, place your profit-taking orders in advance. It’s better to close your position in portions rather than all at once. Just as we cannot know the bottom, we also cannot know the peak— So simply take profits in stages, focus on managing your position as planned, and strive to make the best possible choice—not the absolute best— repeating this process consistently to avoid getting tangled before your next trade. Also, while immediately after a stop-loss is risky, so too is immediately after a large profit-taking— It’s better to take a break from trading for half a day or a full day.
