Teacher Hoang Thi Hien threw herself into danger to save a child—and in doing so, was run over by a vehicle, fracturing both her legs. It was a decision that likely took only seconds—but the price she must pay is a long, arduous, and costly recovery ahead. 🗓️ On September 16, the President of the Socialist Republic of 🇻🇳, To Lam, signed a decision awarding her the Medal of Courage for her heroic act. But I believe the most precious thing isn’t the medal itself. It’s that in that moment of danger, she had no time to think of herself—she only saw a child in peril who needed saving. In every person’s life, there are teachers who quietly pass through their students’ lives like this—no grand gestures required; just one courageous act in an instant is enough to be remembered forever. We wish Teacher Hien a swift and full recovery.
