Yesterday, Anthropic made a decision many had been waiting for: Claude was originally split into separate modes—Chat for conversations, Cowork for collaborative tasks, and Design for creative work. Everyone was left wondering which one to use for each task. Now, Chat and Cowork have been merged into a single Claude. You ask a question, and Claude automatically decides whether to respond quickly or dive into a longer task—even continuing to work after you close your laptop. On the same day, they also launched beta versions of: Claude Docs and Claude Slides. You can co-write documents, leave comments, and share links directly with Claude. Presentations can be edited within the chat and exported as PowerPoint or PDF. Design tools are now fully integrated into the conversation. These features will initially be available to Pro and Max subscribers, followed by Team and Free users later.
