Bryan is onto something important. There is still a tremendous amount of science left to discover about the human body. We need alternative models for discovery, including new institutions willing to pursue questions that fall outside the priorities of modern biomedical research. Bryan's sauna experiment may not produce a clear answer, but it will draw attention to questions that deserve to be asked. That alone has value. Spectacles like this remind the public that there is still real science left to discover.
