No contemporary sources exist for the resurrection; the earliest mentions come from Paul, 20 years after the events, and the Gospels, 40 to 70 years later. The 500 witnesses are mentioned only in 1 Corinthians 15:6, with no other internal or external sources. Tacitus and Josephus mention Jesus, but not the resurrection. In history, an extraordinary event unsupported by contemporary independent sources does not constitute a historical fact.
