BTC became a tradable asset over 15 years ago. this week my gf and I finally found our dream place to rent in the countryside. rent is cheap (£1200 pcm), my gf just got a job with a salary that comfortably covers her half of the rent, and I have provided the last 2 years of withdrawals from crypto exchanges to my personal accounts, totalling over £120,000 of 'self-employed income'. renting agency told me in no uncertain terms that they do not accept this money as a viable part of their assessment for proof of income as I was 'not withdrawing a monthly salary' over that 2 year period. I now have to give my mum's details as guarantor on my half of the rent, despite clearly showing a yearly salary of over £60,000 per year. just insane to realise just how arcane, regressive and out of touch most of conventional society is with modern commerce, income and ways of living, absolutely laughable 😂
