Saved from what exactly? From sin? From hell? From separation from God? But in classical Christian theology, it is also God who created the rules, defined sin, and established the consequences of that sin. We are thus left with a situation in which God saves us from a problem He himself set the conditions for. From an outside perspective, this resembles: “Accept my salvation or suffer the consequences I have established.” Why would we need to be saved from a condition we neither chose nor created?
