It might sound like a childish opinion, but if I can no longer be independent, is euthanasia really that bad? The other day, I had a colon and stomach endoscopy with IV anesthesia—it was instant; I lost consciousness in a flash. If, in the future, I have to suffer through a prolonged illness with only inadequate social support, I’d rather not. Also, why not abolish pensions and just keep basic living support?
