I’ve never really believed that banning social media solves the underlying problem. People don’t suddenly stop going online, they just find other ways, and sometimes those alternatives are less safe and harder to monitor. The better approach is building platforms that respect users instead of exploiting them. More privacy, better controls, less addictive algorithms, and fewer incentives to harvest data. That’s one reason I’m keeping an eye on @liberdus. The future of the internet shouldn’t be choosing between surveillance and censorship. We can build something better than both.
