let me give u an example of how difficult it is to time this equities market i've wanted to switch pension providers for months. but being balls deep in the market 24/7, timing the switch matters, cos can take up to 2 months if i'd executed the switch at the wrong time this year, i'd have missed a +34% nasdaq move, my pensions are 70% tech so thank fuck i didn't i decided to pull the trigger a few weeks ago, sold a small % of my main pension (they'd market sell it anyway and £ transfers are quicker) and initiated the transfer however... £ still hasn't arrived + the market ramped straight back to all time highs in 3 days. missed the dip and am now sidelined, possibly for another 6 weeks trying to time this equities market is a bitch. this is why i simply hold cos if u try and get fancy u *will* get punished
