Spain dropping points against Cape Verde was definitely not on my World Cup bingo card But Cape Verde earned every bit of that point All I can say is that it was some amazing defensive work ! The organization, discipline and work rate were impressive from start to finish, and seeing the fans enjoying every minute of it made the result even better A special mention to the 40 year old goalkeeper as well... What a performance on one of the biggest stages in football ! That being said, I still can’t help but wonder how different this match would’ve looked if Yamal had come on earlier Sometimes one player is all it takes to change the rhythm of a game All in all, a well-deserved point for Cape Verde !
