Germany absolutely dismantled Curaçao today, winning 7-1 As someone who has visited Curaçao multiple times and plans to return many more, I can’t help but feel a little disappointed by the result This is their first World Cup appearance, and regardless of the opponent, that’s already a huge achievement for a small island nation Realistically, Germany was always going to be a difficult challenge The gap in squad depth, experience and quality is simply massive The scoreline may look brutal, but I think most Curaçao fans will agree that simply being on this stage is something to be proud of ! The next match against Ecuador feels like a much more realistic benchmark A result there still won’t be easy, but it should give us a better idea of where this team truly stands at World Cup level I’ll definitely be rooting for them !
