Regarding humanities transition from Kardashev type 1 to 2, I just realized that @Starlink is a conceptual cousin to a Dyson swarm. Both are about deploying a huge constellation of satellites that work together to capture something from space and beam it down. Starlink does it with radio waves, a Dyson swarm would do it with sunlight. It's just a different flavor of energy or signal.
