I barely fell for a Telegram meeting scam—the scheme went like this: 1) I suddenly received a message from a boss I hadn’t contacted in a long time, inviting me to a meeting. 2) When the meeting time came, I joined the Google Meet link but found no one there; the scammer then asked me to click a Teams link. I found this suspicious and immediately verified with the boss via WeChat. 3) I even contacted his colleague to cross-check—turns out the boss’s Telegram account had been compromised. I immediately deleted the contact and avoided the scam. I asked around among friends, and it seems fake Teams scams are rampant lately. In a bear market, if a long-dormant contact suddenly reaches out—or even sounds noticeably different—you must verify through multiple channels before proceeding. Never click on any temporary meeting links except those from Google Meet or Zoom. If you can’t refuse, create your own meeting and invite them to join. (In a bear market, making money is hard—protecting it is just as precarious 😳)
