I have recently been reading through some of Kurt Vonnegut’s work and it left me feeling inspired. I tried to blend the styles of Vonnegut and Orwell to produce a dry, satirical dystopian short story. The premise came to me after I read a LinkedIn post that was so hopelessly saturated in word-salad corporate speak that I read it three times and still didn’t come up with any substance. Then I got to thinking— what if the path we're currently on, of endless centralization of power, control, and influence into the hands of a few corporate technocrats, holds for another fifty years. What if we achieve AGI and it’s merely used to perpetuate this trend?
