A very old friend was moaning on social media the other day about the price of heating oil. He was hating and blaming Trump and his insane war-mongering. My friend has been freezing most of the Winter because they have the heating on only for a few hours each day. So he’s obviously struggling financially. I - very gently - suggest he starts to save a small amount of #Bitcoin monthly, because the money he’s earning is broken. Immediately the walls go up. “I was warned off Bitcoin years ago”. And, “Bitcoin is terrible for the environment” - followed by a ChatGPT summary of how bad it is. I resist the temptation to tell him that whoever warned him kept him away from financial security. Didn’t matter what I said, nor my good lady who also chimed in. There was no interest in hearing more. Isn’t it remarkable that when people are drowning and calling for help (because moaning is that), they reject the help offered? My friend is Britain’s attitude to prosperity distilled in human form.
