Bitcoin does suck up investment capital. But hashrate to secure Bitcoin — where does it come from? Hash to verify blocks come from miner effort. They do work to generate electricity. Computer transform electricity to power Bitcoin. So energy from miner work flows up. Against gravity? Yes. It shows gravity works a little different. That we live in a minimum where objects fall downwards. At extremes, gravity works differently. That is why energy flows upwards on Bitcoin. At least how I imagine it.
