Q&A from KuCoin to 0G
Q: How do you see community-owned AI changing the landscape compared to traditional centralized AI?
Michael: We believe in a world that is not ruled by blackbox AI companies that you have to blindly trust—a world where AI is a public good, where AI is about participation from a community that can contribute its compute, its data, and its knowledge, and reap the benefits of AI productivity. AI that is safe, transparent, verifiable, and community-owned. Any workflow or process can be run with AI in a world that experiences abundance.
Q: Can you give a brief overview of 0G.ai and what makes it unique in empowering communities to build and own AI?
Michael: What makes it unique is its modular Layer 1 blockchain architecture, which fully decentralizes storage and compute resources. This allows anyone to contribute, access, and scale AI workloads with transparency, efficiency, and security.
By combining cutting-edge infrastructure with an open, collaborative ecosystem of 300+ projects, 0G fosters a community-driven model where participants not only build but also own the value they create—turning AI development into a collective, democratized effort.
We have programs like Guild on 0G that invite builders to come and build. We work with Akindo, Crypto Got Talents, and many educational platforms and accelerators like Hackquest, One Piece Labs, and Web3 Labs to help people learn about Web3 × AI and build in this space.
Q: What are some early examples or success stories of communities creating AI with 0G.ai?
Michael: CARV was able to pivot from purely gaming to AI features (own SVM L2) after going through an accelerator and learning about the power of decentralized AI, even in the gaming industry. Haio is using the iNFT standard to embed music agents into a transparent yet secure and monetizable system, allowing artists, creators, and even casual users to earn from their own AI-generated music.
Kult Games has never focused on AI-style games, but because of the 0G stack (compute and service marketplace), they can now create games that incorporate AI.
Their first flagship game, launching soon, is called “Guess the AI.” It allows users to guess which images or videos are AI-generated and which are real. Many more games are expected after mainnet.
Q: Where do you see the concept of community-built AI going in the next 2–3 years, and what role could 0G.ai play in shaping that future?
Michael: We see ourselves as the backbone of deAI, providing the teXch, education, funding, and ecosystem to support the space.
Community-trained models are the future. Users have a lot of data, but they cannot meaningfully or purposefully contribute to AI applications.
OpenAI takes that data and uses it however they want. It's like a black box—we don't know what goes into it and have to trust that they will align with our human interests.
0G empowers users to take control of their data, choose how and where it is being used, and train models that can then have enterprise value and give rewards back to the data contributors.
The upcoming ITO launchpad will showcase this.
Q: For community members or developers interested in starting with 0G.ai, what’s the easiest way for them to get involved and start building?
Michael: Come to our EthGlobal India event this weekend and meet with our Dev Team to learn more.
0gfoundation.ai has details about a large ecosystem growth fund with $88.88M available as investment (not grants). The first phase is Guild on 0G with $8.88M.
Over 850 applicants applied, and the top 30 have been announced, with another 50 more to be announced in the coming months.
The best way to start is to take a look at docs.0G.ai, start building, and then apply for the Guild program.

Q: What is 0G’s long-term vision for decentralized AI and alignment?
Michael: Alignment is a problem faced by Web2 companies and Web3 alike. When we do not have visibility, it is very hard to know if there is alignment.
The goal of decentralizing AI is to ensure transparency in model weights and biases, so that no single entity can unduly exert influence to skew outcomes in a certain direction.
0G supports this long-term vision by storing data in a decentralized manner and then training models with or without community-contributed data on a decentralized and fully verifiable serving marketplace.
Also, 0G has AI alignment nodes (from a highly successful node sale raising $35–60M), which help monitor AI model drift and malicious data injection that can occur during the training process.
In the future of AGI (of which 0G also owns the domain rights via Unstoppable Domains), having AI aligned with human interests requires transparency, verifiability, and, most importantly, community ownership. That's why we keep saying we want to make AI a public good.
Q: How will 0G bring real value to KuCoin users beyond trading? What makes 0G different from other projects KuCoin has partnered with? Any upcoming utilities or use cases from 0G that KuCoin holders should watch for?
Michael: KuCoin users can also learn about 0G and participate in staking campaigns to reap additional benefits. This way, they can learn about the broader 0G ecosystem and eventually participate on-chain with different applications, like Jaine (AMM Dex), AIverse (trade and launch iNFT AI agents), Gimo (liquid staking), Balkaneum Labs (decentralized federated learning), and more.
We believe in long-term rewards and building a long-term ecosystem, as the mission of making AI a public good is not a one- or two-year mission—it could be a lifetime.
Q: How will 0G's $0G staking and modular blockchain balance node rewards with scalable AI compute for dApps by 2027?
Michael: Node rewards happen for multiple types of nodes: storage, compute, AI alignment, and validators. Besides AI alignment nodes, the node rewards are paid for usage and not for capacity, and therefore create sustainable tokenomics. The AI alignment nodes will eventually become the “police force” of the protocol and will also operate as pay-for-use node infrastructure. If demand increases on the network, node providers will respond by providing additional capacity under these tokenomics.
Q: What makes 0G different from other blockchain projects, and why should users choose it?
Michael: Other blockchain projects tend to: 1. not have AI expertise on the team, 2. be a coordination mechanism only, without solving AI scalability or feasibility problems, and 3. be a wrapper around centralized AI.
0G is building real technology that allows anyone, including Web2 AI builders, to build whatever AI application they want—but with the properties of transparency, community ownership, verifiability, AI safety, and partnering with the community to deliver AI as a public good.
Q: How does 0G integrate AI with blockchain storage for better scalability?
Michael: Slow storage creates slow AI because AI models need to be loaded into the memory of the GPU that is serving the model. We will eventually be able to figure out a mechanism to bring the storage location as close as possible to the GPU to minimize latency and the loading time of a model. Our storage layer is designed for fast upload and download speeds (more than 2GB/s) to work with AI workloads.
Q: What are OG Labs’ strongest points that you believe will make your team a market leader? As the first decentralized Layer 1 AI project, what are your expectations for development over the next two to three years?
Michael: We are the leaders in decentralized AI because of our a. research, b. technology, c. ecosystem, and d. funding.
A. Published 5 papers recently, 4 of which are already in top AI and software engineering conferences.
B. Technology is world-class—400 ms block times, infinite TPS (11k TPS on EVM per shard), infinite data throughput.
C. Largest deAI ecosystem with 300+ partners.
D. Funding of $350M+ via Labs and Foundation, plus $400M in funding for ZeroStack, the Digital Asset Treasury for 0G.
Q: OG is entering a competitive space—what unique value or real-world problem does OG solve that makes it stand out, and how do you see it driving adoption in both the crypto community and beyond?
Michael: Running late for the next AMA, so this is the last question. You can also ask us more questions on our Discord. How do you make AI transparent, verifiable, and community-owned? These are key issues that are necessary for the future of AI. Real adoption will come in the form of community-owned models and infrastructure. AIverse is an example of using iNFTs for trading and creating AI agents. This is not possible in centralized AI, given that you can't establish ownership in the same way.
