Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is KuCoin Gift Card?
KuCoin Gift Card is a prepaid cryptocurrency instrument that can be used for the efficient transfer and trading of digital assets. Both crypto and non‑crypto users can purchase KuCoin Gift Cards from merchants and redeem them into their KuCoin accounts.
KuCoin Gift Cards also serve as an important on‑/off‑ramp for the KuCoin exchange: when you need to deposit or transfer assets, the Gift Card can act as a convenient payment medium. Once the recipient redeems the gift card code, the corresponding cryptocurrency balance will be credited to their KuCoin wallet.

Q2: Can individual users create Gift Cards?
No. Only KuCoin Pay partner merchants can create Gift Cards.

Q3: Is there any fee for redeeming a Gift Card?
No. Upon redemption, the full value of the Gift Card will be credited to your assets without any deduction.

Q4: Do Gift Cards expire?
Yes. KuCoin Gift Cards are valid for 12 months from the date of creation. Please redeem them in time.

Q5: Can I top up a Gift Card?
No. Gift Cards do not support top‑ups.

Q6: What currencies are currently supported for Gift Cards?
USDT and USDC. Other currencies will be added gradually – stay tuned.

Q7: Can I redeem a Gift Card partially?
No. Gift Cards can only be redeemed for the full amount. After redemption, the full cryptocurrency amount will be transferred to your assets.

Q8: If a Gift Card has already been sent to my account and appears in my [Available] list, can it be redeemed by someone else?
No. Once a Gift Card is sent to your account, it can only be used by you and cannot be redeemed by anyone else.

Q9: If I receive a Gift Card, can I forward it to another person?
It depends on how you received it:
  • Scenario 1 (Bound to your account): If the Gift Card has already been credited to your account, it cannot be transferred. Please redeem it promptly.
  • Scenario 2 (Unbound code only): If you possess only the redemption code and it hasn't been linked to any account, you may share the code with someone else. Keep your redemption code strictly confidential to prevent asset loss from unauthorized access.

Q10: What is the difference between the Gift Card number and the redemption code?
  • Gift Card Number (Reference ID): A unique public identifier used to check the status and details of the card.
  • Redemption Code: Used to claim funds. Keep this confidential, as anyone with the code can redeem the card.
