To set up a KuCoin account, you need to prepare an email address or a phone number. The email address is useful when you try to withdraw, change any other account security settings, or create API, etc.
1.How to Link an Email Address
Step 1: Login into your account, go to Security Settings, find the Email, and hit the "Link" button.
Step 2: You will be prompted to either confirm your passkey or enter a verification code, either Google 2FA Code or SMS Verification Code.
Step 3: On the next page, enter the email address you wish to bind and hit Send. The code should then be sent to you via email box. Enter the six-digit code and hit Activate.
Note:
- If you’re trying to use an SMS code as the Security verification, remember to click the Send button to request it. SMS verification codes expire in 10 minutes.
2.How to Change Your Email Address if the Email Address is available
Step 1: Go to Security Settings, hit the Change button next to Email.
Step 2: Complete Security verification, you’ll be asked to enter a verification code sent to your current email address.
Step 3: On the next page, enter the new email address you wish to bind, then hit Send. The code will be sent to your new email address. Enter the six-digit verification code and hit Submit.
Note:
• Please ensure to click the Send button to request it. Email verification codes expire in 10 minutes.
• Once your email address has been changed, the new email address will take effect immediately. For security purposes, the withdrawal function will be disabled for 24 hours after changing your email address.
3.How to Change Your Email Address if the Email Address is Unavailable
Scenario 1: On Login Page
Step 1: Head over to KuCoin login page and enter your registered email address or phone number.
Step 2: Click "Forgot Password" and select 'Confirm'.
Step 3: Click on "Verification Method Unavailable".
Step 4: Select Email on the 'Reset Authentication' page
Step 5: Complete the security verification process.
Step 6: Enter the new email address you wish to use and click 'Send' to request the Email Verification Code. The code will be sent to your new email address. Enter the six-digit code and click 'Activate' to complete the process.
Scenario 2: On Account Security Page
Step 1: Hover over your avatar located in the top-right corner, and select "Account Security".
Step 2: Locate the Email, click 'Change' and click "Email Unavailable".
Step 3: Select Email and click 'Confirm'.
Step 4: Complete the security verification process.
Step 5: Enter the new email address you wish to use and click 'Send' to request the Email Verification Code. The code will be sent to your new email address. Enter the six-digit code and click 'Activate' to complete the process.
Scenario 3: On Help Center Page
Step 1: Click on "Reset Authentication " on the Help Center page.
Step 2: Select Email and click 'Confirm'.
Step 3: Complete the security verification process.
Step 4: Enter the new email address you wish to use and click 'Send' to request the Email Verification Code. The code will be sent to your new email address. Enter the six-digit code and click 'Activate' to complete the process.
Note:

Please note that the withdrawal service will be suspended for the next 24 hours after resetting the email address.

When reset authentication, please upload the required photos while following the instructions closely, or your request may be rejected.

The review may take 48 hours to be completed after you submit the request.
4.How to Unlink Your Email Address
Step 1: Hover over your avatar located in the top-right corner, and select "Account Security".
Step 2: Locate the Email and click 'Unlink'.
Step 3: Hit the "Send" button, enter the verification code and click "Confirm" to complete the process.
Note:

Please note that the withdrawals and other outflows will be disabled for 24 hours after unlinking your email.

Once unlinked, your previous email can't be used to register a new account or link to another account for 24 hours.
