How to Upgrade to Unified Account?

Eligibility

Currently, the Unified Account on KuCoin is in a limited grayscale testing phase and is only available to a small group of professional institutional users. However, we will soon gradually open this feature to all KuCoin users.
Note: You can switch freely between Unified and Classic Account modes as both are currently available.

Requirements

  1. Designated whitelist users
  2. No open futures positions
  3. No open spot & futures orders
  4. No assets with debt or negative equity

Steps to Upgrade to Unified Account

  1. Step 1: Go to the upgrade entry: Trading Page - Trading Settings - Preferences - Account Mode

FAQs

  1. How long will it take to upgrade?

    The upgrade will take just a few seconds, during which trading or fund transfers will be unavailable.

  2. What happens to my funds after the upgrade?

    Your assets will remain in your classic Trading and Futures Accounts. You'll need to transfer them to your Unified Account manually.

  3. What happens to my sub-accounts after upgrading?

    The master account and sub-accounts can each be set to different account modes. For example, the master account could be on Unified Account mode, while the sub-account could remain on Classic Account mode.

  4. Can I switch back to Classic Account mode after upgrading?

    Yes. Both Unified and Classic modes are available, so you can switch between them at any time. To switch back, simply return to the upgrade page where the option was first available.

  5. How do I switch back to Classic Account mode?

    You can switch back to the Classic Account mode through the same entry point used for the upgrade.
