Trading Password

Your trading password is very important. When enabled, it’s used to verify all your transactions on KuCoin, including spot, futures, and margin trading, as well as withdrawals and API-related actions. Remember or write down your trading password securely. Here, we’ll help you on how to set, change, and reset your trading password.

1. Setting Up Your Trading Password

i. In Security Settings , look for Trading Password. Select Configure next to it.
ii. Complete the security test by verifing your passkey (if you bind) or sending and entering your Google 2FA, text message, or email verification code.
iii. Hit Submit.

Note:
• The password must be 6-digits with no letters or symbols.
• Remember and keep your password safe, as it can only be recovered via two-factor authentication.
• KuCoin support will never ask for your trading password on any communication channels. Do not share your trading password with anyone.

 

2. Changing Your Trading Password

i. In Security Settings, hit the Change button next to Trading Password and confirm change trading password.
ii. Enter your current password and the new password, then click Change.

Note:
• Withdrawals, selling crypto via P2P, and sending Red Packets are disabled for 24 hours after changing your trading password to protect your assets.
• Once changed, your trading password is effective immediately.

 

3. Resetting your Trading Password

Solution1:Resetting Trading password on account security page and help center page
i. Locate Trading Password and hit change on account security page or select "Reset Authenticator Method" on the help center page.
ii. Click "Verification method unavailable" on account security page while entering your email address or phone to confirm account (if you don't login) on the help center page iii. Choose"Trading Password" and confirm.Complete the Identity Verification process, following the instructions closely to request a manual password reset. Once you’ve appealed,your request will be processed in approximately 1–3 business days.

Solution2:Resetting Trading password on login page
i. Select "Forgot password" on the login page and confirm reset password.
ii. Click "Verification method unavailable".
iii. Choose"Trading password" and confirm.Complete the Identity Verification process, following the instructions closely to request a manual password reset. Once you’ve appealed,your request will be processed in approximately 1–3 business days.

Note:
• When completing Identity Verification, upload the required photos and follow the instructions on the page closely, or your request may be rejected.
• Withdrawals, selling crypto via P2P, and sending Red Packets are disabled for 24 hours after changing your trading password to protect your assets.
• The password reset is effective immediately upon completion. Refresh or restart the page after receiving a confirmation email.
