About

ZamaZAMA
Zama adds a layer of confidentiality to existing public blockchains such as Ethereum and Solana. It enables users to shield their tokens and confidentially transfer, swap or stake them in DeFi. Some use cases include confidential stablecoins, swaps, RWA tokenization and DeFi. Zama is like HTTPS, but for blockchain transactions. Zama leverages state-of-the-art Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) technology, which enables computing directly on encrypted data. FHE has long been considered the “holy grail” of cryptography, as it allows end-to-end encryption for any application, onchain or offchain, and is secure even against quantum computers. Zama has secured $57m in a Series B funding round. The funding, co-led by Blockchange Ventures and Pantera Capital, brings Zama's total funding to more than $150m and its valuation to more than $1bn.

FAQ

How does the Zama Auction work?
The Zama Auction is a sealed-bid Dutch auction. Participants submit confidential bids, and the clearing price is determined based on market demand. This auction method aims to ensure fair price discovery while minimizing manipulation. Please refer to the project announcement for any additional information on the Zama Auction.
How is the clearing price determined?
After the bidding ends, the Zama team will submit the aggregated bids to the smart contract to rank all bids from the highest to lowest price. Each user's final ZAMA allocation is calculated according to the clearing price: - Bids above clearing price: Full ZAMA allocation with refund for price difference; - Bids at clearing price: Pro-rata ZAMA allocation with refund for amount difference; - Bids below clearing price: No ZAMA allocation with all refund. The clearing price and ZAMA allocations are determined by the Zama team, which reserves the final right of interpretation.
Does a bid guarantee an allocation of ZAMA?
Placing a bid does not guarantee an allocation of ZAMA. Allocation is determined after the end of the auction based on the final bid rankings. Only bids that are at or above the clearing price will receive an allocation, subject to the total amount available.
What currencies are supported when bidding?
Eligible users are able to place bids in USDT or USDC. Bids made in USDT or USDC will equate to the value of one United States Dollar ("USD") regardless of fluctuations in USDT or USDC. Any excess funds from bids that did not receive a full allocation will be refunded to users' KuCoin account in the currency you selected at the time of bidding.
What are the requirements to participate in Zama Auction?
To participate in Zama Auction, users must: - Complete Identity Verification (KYC or KYB); - Use a master account (sub-accounts and restricted accounts are not eligible); - Reside in a region not restricted by compliance regulations. KuCoin reserves the right to disqualify users found engaging in fraud, manipulation, or multi-account abuse.
What are the restricted countries or regions in Zama Auction?
Users from certain countries/regions are not supported to purchase tokens (applicable only to users participating on KuCoin): Afghanistan, Belarus, Burundi, Canada, Central Africa, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Donetsk Region, Eritrea, Ethiopia, France, Guam, Guatemala, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Iran, Iraq, Kherson Region, Kurdistan Region, Laos, Lebanon, Libya, Luhansk Region, Mali, Malaysia, Mainland China, Moldova, Montenegro, Myanmar, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Niger, North Korea, Northern Mariana Islands, Palestine, Pakistan, Puerto Rico, Russia, Singapore, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, The Crimea Region, Tunisia, Uganda, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States of America, including all US territories, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Yemen, Zaporizhzhia Region, Zimbabwe.
