KuCoin AMA Series - Jarvis+ - Full Transcript

(UTC+8) 21:00:00, June 20th, 2019, KuCoin hosted the AMA(Ask-Me-Anything) session with Jarvis+ in the Official English Telegram Group, the Official Vietnamese Telegram Group, the Official Turkish Telegram Group and the Official Indian Telegram Group .

The AMA session was composed of 2 sections: 1. Q&A from KuCoin 2. Q&A from audiences. During the first section, there was a time limited giveaway questionnaire for KuCoin users to share 200,000 JAR, which attracted over 5,000 participants and 3,466 winners in total. The rewards will be distributed to winners within 7-14 days.

Introduction of Jarvis+

Also known as JarvisPlus, Jarvis+ is the world's first Smart Contract based AI Conversation as Service Platform and a leading Decentralized Intelligence Solution World. Section I - Q&A from KuCoin

KuCoin: Welcome to KuCoin AMA session! Welcome Joe from Jarvis+ team! Let’s start with the usual one, what is Jarvis+? Could you please briefly introduce Jarvis+ project and team to us?

Jarvis+: Part of our team comes from Microsoft and most of them are experts in NLP (Natural Language Processing) and deep learning. They have been working on AI chat bots for many years and have participated in many famous projects like Xiao Bing and Autohome.

And there is Alex - he was the lead of the Microsoft blockchain ecosystem in China, and famous projects like Neo (neo.org) and Fuzamei (33.cn) are all promoted and incubated during his time at Microsoft. In 2018 Q2, he left Microsoft to work on Jarvis+ as a full-time partner.

The other part of the Jarvis+ team comes from the game and community industry, specializing in interaction, gamification & operation. Stephen was the CEO of a big game company in China and also a successful serial entrepreneur. In 2013, Stephen led team to become the top3 developer on Windows Phone in revenue ranking and was invited by Microsoft to dinner at Bill Gates' steakhouse. At that time, by the introduction of Hai Shi (leader in Microsoft global gaming department), Stephen met many outstanding Chinese engineers inside Microsoft, and worked together to accomplish several cooperation on Windows Phone and Microsoft Ecology.

In this way, the whole team has been knowing each other and working together for more than 5 years.

The Jarvis+ project officially started in October 2017, but before that the team has already been discussing new startup ideas for more than a year. Since the beginning of 2017, team have been discussing with Uncle Da (Neo’s founder) and Baozou (暴走恭亲王, a famous blockchain KoL in China and friend of Vitalik) LongHash team in Shanghai about how AI and blockchain could work together, but we could not build ideas reliable enough to convince ourselves at that time. And Da & Baozou encouraged us to focus on Blockchain and invited us to help their Blockchain funds.

Then there came the famous event “94” that Chinese government banned blockchain fundraising in China on September 4th 2017. By the end of September, we made two strong conclusions according to our learnings and observations:

1. Community is the root of blockchain;

2. The blockchain communities cannot be killed, which means blockchain has very strong life and cannot be banned by any government;

So at that time we decided what to do in the next decade: to serve the blockchain community with AI technology. This is difficult but feasible in technology and has practical value that deserves to be done in depth. We spent a few months implementing the technical POC (Proof of Concept), took the Demo to the first Neo conference in San Francisco in 2018 Q1 and won the Innovation Award. Later, team got investment of Neo, Fenbushi, and many other investors. Then we went all the way to the present.

KuCoin: How to apply Jarvis+ in real life? What are the use cases?

Jarvis+: This is a very interesting topic. I would try to be as concise as possible, or else I might be too excited to speak too much:)

Let us first talk about something in real life which should be very easy to understand: a small shop in New York may be worth million just because it is at the "golden location". What is a golden location? It is simple – the location has good traffic and many people will pass there.

But this is now slowly being subverted: young people are spending less and less time shopping in streets, and the old "golden location" may slowly become somewhere that only senior people will visit. So where will people spend more time in the future? Online community. We have WeChat, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Reddit, TikTok for young generations around the world.

When the traffic moves from the physical world to the digital community, everything becomes more interesting. Many traditional things can be replaced by AI and bots: for example, the store's salesperson/shopper can be completely implemented by AI bots; and a specific “golden location” might not be that important if comparing to an AI at your side (in the community) that give you suggestions as friends; and there might be no real “shop” in the future and AI will adjust recommendations, arrangements and displays for visitors according to their personal preferences.

We believe that the coming trend is the big opportunity for Jarvis+: we are in the era of the traditional physical world being replaced by the digital community, and old business models will be restructured, while Jarvis+ will help partners with AI and community bot technologies to reduce the threshold of migration and meet the changes of the era.

At the same time, individuals in this era will encounter many new problems that did not exist in the past, such as data security, privacy protection, etc. Jarvis+ is willing to be a pioneer to explore the best possible solution to help community members.

KuCoin: There are so many community bots, what are the advantages of Jarvis+?

Jarvis+: We are very familiar about this market, and we see two main types of products there:

1. Products for community group creation, management, etc., and the names are WeTool, XiaoU, Jianqunbao, etc. This type of product is to build tools with the WeChat/Telegram protocol, to solve the problem of batch operations, and simplify the UI to allow fewer clicks per administrator operation;

2. Products for intelligent customer service bots, such as XiaoAI bots, bamboo technology and so on. This kind of product is mainly to leverage AI conversation for customer service and reduce personnel costs;

To put it simply, the current competitors are either WeChat/Telegram protocol wrapping tools (no AI at all), or AI customer services to win big company orders (no community at all).

But we think, or what Jarvis+ is doing, must be a combination of the two:

On the one hand, we believe that the community is a trend, AI conversation bots must serve the community, not just customer support;

On the other hand, the value of wrapping WeChat/Telegram protocol is very small, while AI ​​conversation bot is very suitable for community scenarios, whether it is to smartly help administrators reduce the workload, or to analyze the needs of community members, or to connect the community with blockchain.

In this way, although there are many community tools on the market, we believe that we are doing something very unique.

KuCoin: It seems that Jarvis+ is just an application that serves blockchain, why would you decide to issue tokens?

Jarvis+: This is a very good question. We have also thought and discussed a lot within team members. We can share our ideas from the following aspects:

1) We know there is huge value in blockchain communities, and Jarvis+ decided from the very beginning to address the problems of the community & social economy, especially the blockchain community. Thus from this perspective, Jarvis+ is destined to embrace the blockchain as much as possible, whether it is governance structure or tokenization, so that we can speak the same language and achieve close cooperation with our blockchain partners.

If company system is adopted instead, it will bring a lot of extra burdens and issues, such as laws and regulations, financial booking systems, whether we can accept third-party Tokens, etc., and will definitely bring very bad impacts to our partnerships.

2) We received a lot of inspiration when we communicated with Tony Tao in early 2018, when he was still the chairman of NGC (Neo Global Capital). He always encouraged us to adopt the blockchain organization, whatever it is main chain, protocol or application. “The market’s preferences for main chain, protocol, or application could change at any time, and it’s more important to generate value, which is the utility of the project.” “If you think that the blockchain will replace the company system and completely change the world, why do you still hesitate between the company or the token system?" We strongly agree with these views.

3) From the perspective of Jarvis+1.0, we capture the demand for community from blockchain projects (and traditional business models). In this phase Jarvis+ is an application indeed; but when it is Jarvis+ 2.0, we will also work on new problems from business going community: privacy, data ownership, data transferring etc. At this stage, Jarvis+ will become more like a protocol or architecture than an application.

In summary, we believe that the Jarvis+ going tokenization is the most reasonable choice and has a very large value.

KuCoin: What will Jarvis+ plan to do after being listed on KuCoin? Would you mind sharing with us some future plans?

Jarvis+: Our plans could be expressed in the following aspects:

* From the perspective of cooperation and operation, we have dozens of cooperation waiting in line, and we need to gradually deliver and get online. At the same time, some big names in China are also talking with us about the cooperation between the community economy and the blockchain. Q:What other blockchain companies or projects are using Jarvis+'s Intelligent Community Platform (ICP) services? What are some of the next steps for Jarvis+?

A:Thank you. For blockchain, projects like NEO, BTM, and truechain are using Jarvis+ and partnering with us; for traditional biz, we have dozens of partners like LAX, Xinya, WeMart, etc.

Q: What are the similar projects like jarvis +? And How is jarvis better then them?

A: Thank you. I have answered a siimilar question - the current competitors are either WeChat/Telegram protocol wrapping tools (no AI at all), or AI customer services to win big company orders (no community at all).

But we think, or what Jarvis+ is doing, must be a combination of the two:

Q: What is the difference between JAR & JPG?

A: This is a very deep question - looks like you read our website very well :)

We have Jarvis+ 1.0 & 2.0. In the current phase (1.0), Jarvis+ mainly provides services for blockchain (and traditional corporations) community operations, and service revenue (including BTC, ETH, cash, or other tradable Token) will be used to repurchase JAR from the open market. The JAR repurchased will be locked for 6 months, and then voted by the community to destroy, or as a bonus to Jarvis+ eco contributors/partners.

JAR is our main token, and JPG is the GAS token for stage 2.0.😀

Q: How do you regard the privacy issue underneath the growing AI technology?

A: With regard to privacy and data, we think:

1. Privacy & Data Protection are the products of the technology progress and specific stage of the era.

For example, when people are paying by banknotes and e-commerce is not so developed, the privacy issue of shopping must not be worth solving. And if the camera technology has not been improved to so low cost with such good quality and allow large scale of installations, the privacy issue of surveillance cameras will not happen either.

Therefore, we believe that it is the best way to solve the privacy problem while moving forward: in the early stages, it may not be necessary to obstruct or slowdown the technology development because of future worries; and in the later stage, users’ selection will naturally make good competitors win which solve the problems well.

2. The need for privacy and data ownership is bound to happen, which is determined by Maslow's theory of human needs.

Therefore, as a technical project, it is necessary to preserve the space and interface in the architecture for handling privacy and data problems, so that it will be possible to solve the problem in the future by iterating & updating. Fortunately, blockchain technology itself is well suited to address privacy and security issues, and thus there are enough tools around the blockchain to build solutions. And thus we are full of confidence in Jarvis+2.0.

Q: I see Wechat online on your roadmap, What did you guys do with Wechat?

A:This is a very interesting question and glad you asked it. We have a lot of small partners in China who are using our technlogy to serve their customers. For example, in China there are restaurant with only one or two waiter/waitress - they are actually using our wechat to serve their customers. The customer can scan the wechat QR code, ask for services from AI bots. And when customers go back home, the AI bots will send messages to customers for greetings and discounts:)

The new wechat smart AI service ecosystem really thrilled us to be honest:) And we think it will be something very big.

Q: Not to get too philosophical but what are your thoughts on the subject “Artificial Intelligence Makes Life Better?”

A: We believe artificial intelligence will make life better. But in the meanwhile it will also bring new problems like privacy & data protection. We need to go ahead while fixing new problems.

Q: As stated in Jarvis 2.0. Why do you believe that Cross-Chain technology will be a future trend?

A: This is the question I really want to talk about! Yes we like cross chain technology.

You know in 2018, one of my friends wanted to build a texas hold’em game into a Dapp, he is a very good programmer but finally he failed - Dapp can not support very complex logic.Then we realized that maybe in the future, a Dapp is not a smart contract, but a chain itself. That's why cross chain is so important - it will be an infrastructure for all Dapps in chain and help all Dapps connect together. Thank you.

Q: The current scenario of Jarvis+ only realizes the function of community operation, which still adopts a centralized mode and is consequently not very competitive. The ecosystem of Jarvis+ can still be promising, in the meantime, how are you going to actively attract more developers in your platform?

A: We worked on several startups previously, and that's why we believe the stragtegy of "0 to 1" is very important.

We want to start as centralized, to prove our vision correct, and we can do this by working with a lot of projects (community admins).

And then in 2.0, we will start making it decentralized with the community/partners we gathered, and start to serve ordinary community members.

This is a path we choose.
