Meet Kaspa: Making Proof of Work Faster

Bitcoin demonstrated that proof of work (PoW) can secure a decentralized network through open competition among miners. However, traditional PoW blockchains usually use a single-chain structure, where blocks are added and confirmed one after another. This can limit network speed and scalability.
Kaspa explores another possibility: retaining PoW security, open mining, and decentralization while enabling faster block processing.
Kaspa achieves this through a blockDAG architecture. Unlike traditional blockchains that arrange blocks sequentially on one chain, Kaspa can retain and order multiple valid blocks created at nearly the same time, improving processing efficiency. The Kaspa mainnet currently operates at 10 blocks per second (10 BPS), showing that this design is already live rather than only a future concept.
Kaspa launched fairly in November 2021, with no premine, presale, or insider allocation. Since genesis, every KAS in circulation has been produced through open PoW mining.
