KuMining Cloud Mining: How It Works and How to Get Started
Learn how to access real crypto mining through a hashrate service, without buying or maintaining mining hardware.
Interested in gradually accumulating BTC, DOGE, LTC, ZEC, and KAS through mining, but lack the equipment, space, or technical expertise? Cloud mining lets you purchase hashrate services online and access computing power from real mining machines operated by a professional team.
This guide explains how cloud mining works, how to use KuMining, and what to understand about costs and output before purchasing a plan.
1 What Is Cloud Mining and How Does It Differ from Buying Crypto
On networks that use Proof of Work (PoW), mining machines perform computations to participate in mining and receive rewards under network and mining pool rules. Hashrate is the computing power used for this process.
With cloud mining, you purchase a specified amount of hashrate for a defined period. The provider operates the equipment, and mining output is allocated according to your order and the applicable settlement rules.
| Aspect | Buy crypto directly | Purchase cloud mining hashrate |
| What you purchase | The crypto asset itself. | A specified amount of hashrate service for a defined period. |
| How you receive crypto | Receive the purchased quantity when your trade executes. | Receive mining output daily over the service period, subject to actual mining conditions and settlement rules. |
| How you pay | Pay for the crypto purchased in the trade. | On KuMining, pay hashrate fees upfront and fund electricity for daily deductions, without prepaying electricity for the entire service period. |
| Main value | Acquire crypto immediately at the executed market price. | Gradually accumulate crypto through real mining, without buying or maintaining mining hardware. |
Mining also offers a potential cost advantage. Depending on actual output, hashrate fees, and electricity costs, obtaining crypto through mining may cost less than purchasing the same quantity on the spot market. Favorable changes, such as lower network difficulty, may improve this advantage, but it is not guaranteed.
For users who want to accumulate crypto over time, cloud mining provides access to ongoing mining output with professionally managed equipment. Daily output does not mean fixed daily profit.
Before purchasing, review the hashrate amount, service duration, total costs, and output allocation rules.
2 Why Use KuMining
KuMining is KuCoin’s cloud mining hashrate service, providing online access to mining powered by real mining machines.
-
No equipment to buy or maintain: You do not need to handle installation, cooling, or day-to-day hardware maintenance.
-
A choice of PoW assets: Services include BTC, DOGE/LTC merged mining, ZEC, and KAS, subject to current product availability.
-
Plans that fit your budget: Lite Mode matches a plan to your budget and an available duration. Pro Mode lets you configure the hashrate amount and duration within the available options.
-
Mining records in one place: Use your Mining Account to view daily output, your electricity fee balance, and deduction records.
You can focus on understanding the product, choosing a plan, and managing your account, while KuMining handles the equipment and hashrate service operations.
3 Understand the Costs and Output Before Purchasing
Hashrate Fees and Electricity Fees Are Separate Costs
The hashrate fee pays for the selected amount of hashrate and the service duration.
The electricity fee covers the ongoing operation of the mining equipment. Keep USDT in your Mining Account to fund daily deductions.
KuMining’s “Mine First, Pay Later” model separates these payments: you pay the hashrate fee when placing an order, while electricity fees are deducted daily from USDT deposited in your Mining Account. You do not need to prepay electricity for the entire service period. Review the payment details and maintain a sufficient electricity fee balance.
The hashrate fee is not the total mining cost. An insufficient electricity fee balance may temporarily freeze mining output. Hashrate fees pay for a service; they are not principal returned when the service ends.
Daily Output Does Not Mean Fixed Profit
Mining output is the crypto allocated to your order. To assess your results, consider its market value alongside hashrate fees, electricity fees, and any other applicable costs.
Network difficulty, reward rules, and equipment operating conditions can affect the amount produced. Crypto prices affect its market value. Displayed estimates are for reference only. Cloud mining does not guarantee fixed output, profitability, or recovery of your costs.
4 How to Use the Campaign Coupon Pack
After meeting all campaign reward requirements, you can receive a Hashrate Deduction Coupon pack with a total face value of 18 USDT for use on eligible hashrate purchases.
For example, on an eligible order with a hashrate fee of 200 USDT, applying the “10 USDT off 200 USDT” coupon reduces the hashrate fee payable to 190 USDT.
5 How to Complete the Deposit Task and Start Mining After the Quiz
Register for the campaign, complete the learning content, and answer every quiz question correctly. Then review the deposit task requirements displayed on the campaign page and follow these steps.
Step 1: Go to KuMining
Use the campaign button on the quiz success page to open the KuMining homepage. Make sure you are logged in to KuCoin and have completed the required identity verification.
Step 2: Complete the Deposit Task
The campaign button opens the KuMining homepage. To make a deposit, go to KuCoin’s homepage or “Assets” section and select “Deposit”.
During the campaign period, make cumulative eligible new deposits of ≧1 USDT. Only qualifying deposits made after registering for the campaign, completing the learning content, and answering all quiz questions correctly count toward this task. Historical deposits and internal transfers between KuCoin accounts are excluded.
After meeting all reward requirements and receiving your coupons, return to KuMining and follow the steps below to start mining.
Step 3: Deposit Funds into Your Mining Account
Open the deposit function in your Mining Account, follow the on-screen instructions to make a new deposit that meets the campaign requirements, and confirm that the funds have arrived.
Only eligible new deposits made during the campaign period, after campaign registration and successful completion of all quiz questions, count toward the cumulative deposit task. Previous deposits do not count. The required amount will be shown on the quiz success page.
Visiting KuMining or opening a Mining Account does not complete the deposit task. You must make a qualifying deposit into your Mining Account.
Step 4: Meet the Deposit Requirement and Receive Your Coupons
Once your cumulative eligible new deposits meet the required amount and all campaign reward requirements are satisfied, the system will automatically issue the coupon pack with a total face value of 18 USDT.
Step 5: Choose a Plan and Use Your Coupon to Purchase Hashrate
Return to the KuMining product page and choose an asset, hashrate amount, and service duration that fit your budget and needs. Review the fees and order terms, select an eligible coupon at checkout, confirm the hashrate fee payable, and follow the prompts to complete payment. Also maintain sufficient electricity funds in your Mining Account.
Step 6: Track Your Output and Account Status
Once mining begins under your order’s conditions, use the relevant order page and your Mining Account to view the order status, daily output, and electricity fee deductions.
Depositing funds and purchasing hashrate are separate steps. After making a deposit, you still need to choose and purchase a hashrate plan before mining begins under the order’s conditions. Opening an account or depositing funds alone does not automatically start mining.
