Learn Spot Trading & Earn 10 USDT
Spot trading is one of the most basic ways to trade crypto. Unlike futures or margin trading, spot trading means you directly use the funds in your account to buy and actually hold crypto assets, or sell the crypto assets you already hold.
For example, if you use 20 USDT to buy BTC in the spot market, you will receive BTC based on the market price at the time of the trade. If the BTC price rises later, you may sell it for a profit. If the price drops, your asset value may decrease.
Spot trading is simple, flexible, and suitable for beginners who want to understand crypto trading step by step.
-
What Is Spot Trading?
Spot trading means buying or selling crypto assets at the current market price or at the price you set.
In spot trading, users own crypto assets they purchase. For example, when you buy ETH with USDT, the ETH will be credited to your spot account after the order is filled.
Spot trading usually includes two main directions:
Buy: You use one asset, such as USDT, to purchase another asset, such as BTC or ETH.
Sell: You sell your crypto asset back to USDT or another supported asset.
-
Trading Pair
In the spot market, trading is usually presented in the form of a “trading pair,” which means using one asset to trade another asset. For example, BTC/USDT means using USDT to buy or sell BTC, where BTC is the traded asset and USDT is the quoted asset.
Common crypto trading pairs include BTC/USDT, ETH/USDT, and more. Users can buy or sell assets based on different trading pairs.

Common Spot Order Type:
There are two common order types in spot trading:
Market Order (Suitable for users who want to complete trades quickly and prioritize execution speed) A market order allows users to immediately buy or sell at the best available market price. Its advantages are simple operation and fast execution. However, during periods of high market volatility, the actual execution price may differ slightly from the price displayed at the time the order is placed.
Limit Order (Suitable for users who want to control the execution price or are not in a hurry to complete the trade immediately)
A limit order allows users to set their desired buying or selling price. The order will only be executed when the market price reaches the specified price.
For example, if BTC is currently trading at 60,000 USDT and you want to buy BTC at 58,000 USDT, you can place a limit buy order in advance. The order will only be executed if the BTC price drops to 58,000 USDT or lower.
-
Maker and Taker Orders
In spot trading, order execution types are generally divided into “Maker” and “Taker” orders.
Maker Order: A maker order refers to an order that does not execute immediately after being placed, but instead enters the order book and waits to be matched. Limit orders are more likely to become maker orders.
Taker Order: A taker order refers to an order that is executed immediately by matching with existing orders in the market. Market orders are usually considered taker orders.
