BounceBit is a CeDeFi infrastructure initiative and EVM-compatible Layer 1 that connects Bitcoin, tokenized real-world assets, and onchain financial markets. It is built to address a structural gap in digital asset infrastructure: BTC remains one of the largest pools of underutilized capital in crypto, while tokenized assets, collateral markets, and trading infrastructure still operate across fragmented systems. BounceBit brings these components into a more unified framework for collateral, yield, and execution.

Its infrastructure is designed to make Bitcoin and other high-quality assets more productive onchain. This includes BTC-native yield strategies, tokenized treasury exposure, and exchange-linked market infrastructure within a single ecosystem. BounceBit has also expanded its RWA strategy through integrations such as Franklin Templeton’s tokenized money market fund on BounceBit Prime, and through capital-efficient strategy design using BlackRock’s BUIDL as collateral in Bitcoin trading strategies.

As an EVM-compatible network, BounceBit provides the foundation for structured yield products, asset-backed strategies, and more efficient onchain capital deployment across Bitcoin, RWAs, and trading flows.

BounceBit uses an EVM-compatible proof-of-stake Layer 1 as its base settlement layer for assets, collateral, and applications. Its architecture separates custody, execution, and onchain accounting, while V3 standardizes user positions as rebasing BB-Tokens such as BBUSD and BBTC, which represent vault positions and can be used across DEXs, money markets, perpetuals, and staking.

BounceBit has also outlined Ignition as its next chain upgrade, with 0.5-second block time, about 0.5-second finality, EIP-1559 support, and 30 million gas at launch with a path to 45 million gas, aimed at improving throughput, fee predictability, and execution performance.

BounceBit was founded by Jack Lu, who serves as Founder and CEO. Key events in its development include a $6 million seed round in February 2024, co-led by Breyer Capital and Blockchain Capital with participation from Bankless Ventures and Matrixport Ventures, followed by the BounceBit Mainnet launch on May 13, 2024, the rollout of V3, and the expansion of BounceBit Prime as its institutional collateral platform. A major development in BounceBit’s current positioning is the integration of Franklin Templeton’s Benji and BlackRock’s BUIDL via Securitize into Prime, with client assets custodied at Standard Chartered and connected to execution through an off-exchange collateral model. More recent public updates have also highlighted Ignition as the next chain upgrade and positioned perpetual futures infrastructure as part of the project’s next phase.
