David Johansson is founder and creative director of the Seascape Network. A game developer for the last decade working in studios such as Paradox Interactive, he has mainly worked on historical strategy games.

Q: Please briefly describe Seascape Network, its history, and its current goals.
David: It's my pleasure to introduce you to the Seascape ecosystem. Seascape Network is a gaming platform with a strong focus on bringing true fun and a solid infrastructure to the web3 space. Our team has been working tirelessly with various game studios in developing Seascape Development Services (SDS). As a result, we have already launched seven exciting games and six NFT series, along with deploying over 100 smart contracts. Our games are available on multiple networks, including Ethereum, Binance Chain, MoonRiver, Moonbeam, and IMX, with more on the way.
Nicky: Our community is strong, active, and constantly growing, and we are always looking to build and publish games with higher quality and engaging gameplay.

Q: What inspired you to get into Web3, and where do you see it going?
Nicky: I am extremely excited to be here today to discuss the gaming industry's future and how Seascape Network is at the forefront of it. As we all know, NFTs and token economics are a perfect match for the gaming industry. This was a huge inspiration when we decided to build Seascape Network. Finally, after two years of building, releasing, and operating, a well-designed NFT and token economy across a game platform and its ecosystem can greatly benefit game projects, gamers, and the platform itself.

Q: What are some of your recent projects with Seascape, and how can listeners get involved?

Q: Please explain a bit about the history of Metaking Studios and your first AAA title, BLOCKLORDS.
Nicky: At Seascape, we started as a small studio of five people working in a bunker in 2018. We had a vision for a 2D medieval strategy game that would allow players to play as NFT heroes, attack bandits and collect loot, trade with other players using cryptocurrency, and even become lords and collect taxes from other players' trades. This was the concept of the original BLOCKLORDS 2D version.
David: However, after our initial success, we saw a need for high-quality games with rich gameplay in the industry. To drive massive adoption, it's crucial to have a standout product. This is why we established Metaking Studios, a dedicated studio focused on building our first AAA title, BLOCKLORDS. Seascape Network provides all the blockchain development services needed to bring this game to life.
So, what will the game look like? First, we will introduce some of the key gameplay elements of BLOCKLORDS that will set it apart and make it a standout title in the gaming industry.
Q: How can users prepare themselves for the “BLOCKLORDS Early Access”?

Q: Please briefly tell us about $CWS utility/use cases and how Seascape plans for the future.
David: $CWS is a versatile token with multiple uses within the Seascape ecosystem. It can be used to mint NFTs, stake and earn rewards, spend on buying in-game assets, and more. The token also gives users voting power in the Seascape DAO, directly allowing them to say in the platform's future direction.
Nicky: Additionally, $CWS is the trading currency in our own NFT marketplace, the Scape Store. It can also be burned in our IDO platform, Lighthouse, in exchange for new project tokens or NFTs. We have a sale soon that users will want to pay attention to. And, by holding $CWS, users can receive airdrops, such as the upcoming 2nd anniversary NFT.
David: Importantly, we've got our relaunch of Mini Miners next week, which we're extremely excited about. It's perhaps our most addictive game to date and is catered to players who enjoy managing mini-economies. In addition, users can mine gold and use that gold to exchange for CWS rewards, giving yet another use case within the ecosystem. You want to take advantage of this step in Seascape's evolution, so stay tuned to Valentine's Day week for some exciting updates.

Looking ahead, Seascape is planning to add even more burn and use cases for $CWS, making it an increasingly valuable and versatile token within the gaming and web3 ecosystem.

Q: Is there any plan to increase the demand for $CWS in the long term?
David: Seascape is a project for gamers by gamers. The main utility of $CWS is to play an active role in the Seascape ecosystem. Simply being a holder is possible, but it is recommended to play the game, mint NFTs, trade NFTs actively, join the Lighthouse, and of course, now it will be possible to take a more active decision-making role based on how many Seascape tokens and NFTs you hold.
Q: Is your project similar to Gala and Vulcan Forged? Are there any differences between your project and theirs?
Nicky: We have some similar parts; we are game platforms and try to work with more devs/studios and publish games. But on the other hand, I think we are more focused on quality and fun to play with, rich content game products now, not just simple NFT + DeFi. We are also funding and raising our AAA studio, like Metaking, and developing AAA title IP, like BLOCKLORDS. Additionally, we build during the bear season and make more solid SDS (Seascape Development Services) to prepare better for the next bull and mass adoption.
Q: Are you afraid that someday another project with more innovative technology might replace your project?
David: We have been in this space for five years now and understand the importance of always innovating and refining our project based on community feedback, market sentiment, industry trends, and consumer demands.
The proof is in the pudding, with over 120 smart contracts deployed, seven games launched, many more in development, and backing from top investors such as Binance, Bitkraft, Animoca, Square Enix, and many more. The answer to innovations is to keep innovating on top of it, and we will continue to do so for as long as we can.
Q: Do you guys plan to do any cross games activity in the future? For example, I would love to meet a knight on the moon or a Roman commander in a Mini Miners' barn.
David: While all Seascape games are linked via security and technology, there also have been multiple examples of assets being used across different games (Moonscape is a good example of that). Again, this is something our users have enjoyed quite a bit and that we will keep exploring in the future.
We are also planning to do some cross-gaming events with projects outside the Seascape ecosystem, so stay tuned for more on this in the future!
Q: Under the bear market, some projects are stagnant, but many projects seize the opportunity to settle in the bear market. What ecological business is your project building so we can know more about your project?
Nicky: This year, it's an opportunity to reintroduce Seascape Network to all Web3 users. Just like our DAO.
