Q: You had an incredible football career…and now you are making history to be the first football player to make his MMA debut. What inspired the move? And did you not want to rest during retirement?
A: Because I’m crazy, ha-ha. You know I’m someone who always loves martial arts. When I was 10, I used to do some kickboxing, and after that I played football. But the reason I picked MMA is because I was always curious about what they feel inside that cage. Unlike boxing, MMA requires using more muscles and learning about jujutsu. And I’m looking for adrenaline, and I find it in MMA. I’m always pushing my limits to do things I’ve never done before. I always say, when I die, I will have plenty of time to rest, but now I’m full of energy. So to be honest, I love the training.
Q: Beyond sports, you’re now a businessman, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. How do you balance it all? What’s your advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?
A: Oh, the way I balance it all is through passion. I think when you’re passionate about something, you will do everything to achieve your goal. My advice to people is to just believe in yourself. It’s completely different from football, but I’m using the same tools, such as leadership, discipline, focus, and a learning process.
Q: At the Token 2049 event, the largest crypto event, we announced our exciting partnership there. So, what drew you to crypto, and how did you enjoy Token 2049 and visiting the KuCoin events?
A: It was my first proper crypto event, and I really enjoyed it. You can see everyone has positive energy, and I learned a lot of new ideas that matter, whether I’m a businessman or an entrepreneur. Also, the crypto world is a new area for me; it’s the present and the future. That’s the way we are going to live and the way we are living right now. So, I encourage people to be in it.
Q: Your mantra ‘I Love This Game’ resonates with fans globally. How did it come about, and what does it mean to you?
A: ‘I Love This Game’ is a philosophy of life. It is not related to sport; I think life is a game. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. In addition, you have to stay positive and respect every culture and religion. It is a way of living and feeling blessed and grateful. It’s not about Patrice Evra; it’s about everyone. I want everyone to be a part of this game, “We love this game.”
Q: Could you share a bit more about your new crypto project, “We Love This Game”? How did you come up with the project, and what’s the meaning behind it?
A: This project basically has two pillars. One is about joyful disruption; we use new elements, new technology, and innovations to help bring fun to people. The other part is human connection. Not only do we want this passion and happiness to spread out to the communities, but we also want to do good to strangers in the hope that all strangers will do good to others.
Q: KuCoin Pay is excited to be the exclusive payment partner for WTG. Why did you choose KuCoin, and how did this collaboration happen?
A: We all know that KuCoin has been reputable for a very long time. And when we first got invited to join this event, we were so surprised. Q: The AI Pack Man project has also caught a lot of attention. It’s like a digital twin or an extension of you, Patrice Evra. Can you share a bit more about this idea as well as about bringing a digital version to life?
A: The idea comes from the fact that I can’t be everywhere because there’s a lot of demand, and it’s also about how to interact and engage with my fans. With AI, I can be in any place and can speak any different language, so we are working really hard on this project. And we are also making the AI Pack Man into a travel helper and planner; we’re exploring more and more.
Q: WLTG ties into a ‘Pay It Forward’ initiative. Can you share the vision behind this and the positive message you want to spread?
A: Actually, it’s not a short project; it’s a long-term vision and also to give back to the community. We want to make sure people are a part of the movement. I felt I was doing good for society, and it was really impressive. I can’t wait to do good, to do work, and to be positive.
Q: You’ve shifted from ‘I Love This Game’ to ‘We Love This Game’—how can people join this movement?
A: “We love this game” because I need more people to go on this mission with me and feel more a part of it. “We love this game” is for every human in this world; it’s not just for Patrice Evra. We can offer subscription services to other people to make it even bigger and spread the good vibes to everyone.
