Important Announcement: Upgraded Mark Price Calculation Method on KuCoin Futures(2025-10-22)

Dear KuCoin Users,
Following the successful completion of the first batch of mark price formula upgrades on October 18, KuCoin Futures will implement a full upgrade of the mark price calculation method for all contracts (excluding Pre-Market Contracts) on October 22, 2025, from 07:00 to 09:00 (UTC).
This upgrade aims to further enhance the accuracy and stability of mark prices across all contracts.
1. Scope and Schedule

Scope:All USDT-Margined and COIN-Margined Perpetual Contracts (excluding Pre-Market Contracts)

Time: October 22, 2025, 07:00–09:00 (UTC)
During the transition, the mark price will be smoothly switched from the old formula to the new one. Trading and open positions will not be affected.
2. Formula Details
This upgrade adopts the same mechanism introduced in the previous announcement:
“Important: Mark Price Calculation Update for POWRUSDT, MLNUSDT, DUCKUSDT, ALPHAUSDT, and NEIROUSDT(10-18).”
The new formula is as follows:
Mark Price = Median(Price1, Price2, Contract Price)
Price1 = Index Price × [1 + Latest Funding Rate × (Time to Next Funding / Funding Interval)]
Price2 = Index Price + Basis Moving Average
Contract Price = Latest Transaction Price
This median-based mechanism provides more stable mark prices during periods of extreme volatility, reducing liquidation risks and improving pricing fairness.
3. Risk Reminder

Due to the change in mark price calculation, minor adjustments in liquidation prices may occur;
