OriginTrail(TRAC) Information

OriginTrail is the first purpose-built protocol for supply chain based on the blockchain.  Trace (TRAC) is a utility token that enables data operations on the OriginTrail Decentralized Network. It’s functions are the following:

  • Incentive for nodes for performing:
  • Discover & connect functionalities
  • Supply chain consensus checks
  • Data quality checks
  • Data replication checks
  • Data storage & management
  • Filtering & delivering supply chain data
  • Voting rights for token holders (on the next pilot projects)

OriginTrail is building the infrastructure that will enable all supply chain data to be seamlessly exchanged on a blockchain-supported network, powered by the Trace (TRAC) token. After having their token sale sold out in a few minutes, the company is now developing OriginTrail Decentralized Network – an off-chain solution, specifically designed for the need of supply chain data. OriginTrail received an award from Walmart Food Safety Collaboration Center.

OriginTrail has live use cases with partners in Europe in China. It is already ensuring blockchain-based traceability for premium products. OriginTrail launched the Trace Alliance of companies, service providers, and developers that will collaborate on the development and further implementations of the solution.

As a blockchain-agnostic solution, OriginTrail enables any supply chain to connect to the blockchain. The system of nodes is fueled by Trace tokens (TRAC) that are required by companies who are using OriginTrail protocol for data operations. 70+ companies are already lined up for further implementations to help them with supply chain management, to show the veracity of products, etc. TRAC is used as a compensation for nodes as well as for operating the node through staking.

OriginTrail is a member of Enterprise Ethereum Alliance, Blockchain for Social Impact Coalition by ConsenSys, Blockchain in Transport Alliance, and GS1.
