KuCoin Futures to Adjust the Base Interest Rate for Stock Index Perpetual Contracts and Certain Perpetual Contracts (2026-09-24)
To further optimize the funding rate mechanism, KuCoin Futures will adjust the Base Interest Rate used in the funding rate calculation for certain perpetual contracts.

Adjustment Details
Following the adjustment, the Base Interest Rate will be set to 0% for all 146 Stock Index Perpetual Contracts and the following 7 perpetual contracts:

Funding Rate Calculation
The Funding Rate is calculated using the following formula:

Funding rate = clamp [ ( Average premium index + clamp ( Interest rate − Average premium index, 0.05%, −0.05% ) ) / ( 8 / N ), Funding rate cap, Funding rate floor ]
With the Interest Rate set to 0%, the interest rate component will be removed from the calculation, making the Premium Index the sole variable component affecting the Funding Rate. Therefore, setting the Interest Rate to 0% does not mean that the Funding Rate will remain at 0%. The Funding Rate may still be positive or negative depending on the Premium Index and remains subject to the applicable Funding Rate Cap and Floor.
Future Listings
Effective from the date of this announcement, the Base Interest Rate for newly listed Stock Index Perpetual Contracts will be set to 0% by default.
KuCoin Futures may adjust the relevant funding rate parameters based on market conditions. Any further changes will be announced separately.
