Walked into a buddy's mining warehouse in Georgia last month, 4,000 rigs humming, and he told me half his floor space got leased out for AI compute instead of hashing. Now it's official on a bigger scale: Genesis Digital Assets, the company FTX grabbed a 20% stake in before imploding in November 2022, is pivoting its mining farms into AI data centers.
Everyone's calling this an AI story. I'm calling it a mining infrastructure story. The same power contracts, cooling systems, and land deals that made Bitcoin mining profitable are now worth even more for AI... which tells you the real moat was never the coins, it was the hardware and the electricity deals underneath them.
This is exactly why I'm stacked on Kaspa. Proof of work isn't some relic waiting to get replaced by validators staking tokens from their couch - it's the infrastructure layer that big capital keeps circling back to, whether that's AI giants or the next mining supercycle. GPU chains, ASIC farms, power purchase agreements... POS chains don't have any of that physical moat. When the next bull run hits, I think KAS and other POW plays flip market caps that people think are "too big" today.
FTX's bankruptcy estate is still finding value in assets nobody thought mattered in 2022. What's that tell you about the mining rigs everyone wrote off during the bear market - overlooked, or the most undervalued thing in this entire space right now?
