Paddy is an experienced marketer, working for some of the largest brands in the UK, such as BT Group and Flutter Entertainment. He met Bloktopia CEO and co-founder Ross Tavakoli at university. Ross really started to get involved in the crypto space in 2015. As his experience and understanding of crypto evolved, Ross felt like there was a gap in the market for a central area that contained everything about the industry. As NFT and Metaverse demand and technological capability grew, focusing the idea within that medium made sense. After digesting and understanding the concept, Paddy spotted the commercial and advertising opportunities within Bloktopia and took the leap out of the corporate environment to join Ross in its development.

Q: Can you first introduce yourself and your team?

Paddy: Well, first of all, I have to say, thanks so much to the KuCoin community. What an amazing week it has been since the launch of BLOK. It's humbling for the team and exciting all at the same time - we are very grateful to all.

So I’m Paddy, and I am the CMO and a co-founder of Bloktopia. Ross is CEO and also a co-founder. We met at university. Ross really started to get involved in the crypto space in 2015. As his experience and understanding of crypto evolved, Ross felt like there was a gap in the market for a central area that contained everything about the industry. As NFT and Metaverse demand and technological capability grew, it made sense to focus the idea within that medium.

I am from a marketing background, working for some of the largest brands in the UK, such as BT Group and Flutter Entertainment. After digesting and understanding the concept, I have helped develop the brand, commercial, and advertising opportunities within Bloktopia.

Q: Next, we want to learn about the Bloktopia project. Can you tell us more about the project?

Paddy: Of course.

Bloktopia is a visually stunning virtual reality skyscraper with a world-class user experience. Visitors can engage in basic or advanced learning from some of the world-leading minds in the crypto industry - earn revenue, play games with friends, build networks, and much more.

Think of Bloktopia as a shopping mall, where instead of just retail, each store has a different project, exchange, influencer, or crypto brand offering an immersive customer experience.

Q: Bloktopia is a metaverse platform. In terms of the metaverse concept, how is it different from other similar products?

Paddy: The thing which distinguishes Bloktopia from other metaverses is that it is more focused on the commercial side of crypto. It will be an enclosed space, not a sprawling world that is cumbersome to navigate. That means our users will easily find the information that they wish to engage in.

Points of interest will be clearly signposted, and with stunning sightlines and visual effects, UX will be considered at every step. We think that makes us quite unique, and we will be the home of crypto. Everything you will ever need will be in Bloktopia, in one place.

Q: Tell us a bit about the $BLOK token and its utilities.

Paddy: BLOK will act as a currency within Bloktopia, allowing people to purchase items within our world. BLOK will initially be used to purchase NFTs, which will be sold for Real Estate (REBLOK) and Advertising space (ADBLOK) in Bloktopia, which both generate income from advertisers and rental fees.

The higher the daily active users within Bloktopia, the more revenue will be generated from the Big Data produced and the impressions that brands pay for when they advertise on the totems within Bloktopia and/or rent space. This means that NFTs within Bloktopia, whether REBLOK or ADBLOK, can generate revenue for the holders as well as the more typical asset appreciation. You will also need BLOK to customize your avatar and any sole ownership REBLOK you may wish to purchase, which would be your own space within Bloktopia - you can think of that like your apartment. BLOK will also give access to certain performances/talks/educational materials, and the utilities are endless, really.

Q: In what ways will Bloktopia attract the attention of users?

Paddy: We already have some amazing content confirmed on just Level One, which has been built out by Simon Benson, our CTO, and the team he leads. Simon has worked on some amazing titles with Sony Playstation: https://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/by_year/developerId,70739/, and we already have a Level One demo in the Unity Engine.

Our tenants include Polygon, Jake Paul, BitBoy, Avalanche, DuckDAO, Travala, and many more. So they will be offering amazing and immersive content. We also have daily free-to-play games where people can win our token BLOK. Plus, we have a play to earn, where people can join a raffle to win a real Lamborghini.

There will be educational content where people can study crypto and opportunities for people to create their own spaces to socialize too.

We want to offer not only the best content that crypto has to offer but the best content that anyone has to offer on any platform. So, that includes concerts, live sporting events, and much more.

Q: Can you tell us more about how to get involved with NFTs, please?

Paddy: Yes, as mentioned, our revenue-generating NFTs are called REBLOK and ADBLOK. You will need BLOK to buy. Effectively, you can either become a landlord of retail space or an owner of ad space, and both of them will generate revenue. We will be opening our NFT portal within the next week, we hope. We have entered a closed beta phase and need to see the results of that first before we can confirm.

REBLOK and ADBLOK will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. You will create a Bloktopia wallet, deposit $BLOK tokens into it, select the ADBLOK or REBLOK to purchase (maps are available to view on Bloktopia.com now), then if you have managed to get in first, an ADBLOK or REBLOK NFT will be visible in your Bloktopia wallet.

All instructions on this are imminent through our channels.

Q: Finally, share with us the Bloktopia roadmap in the coming future and some key points afterward. Everyone is eager to participate!

Paddy: Sure. We opened staking pools last week. Our Bloktopia NFT Land Sale Portal launches within the week. We are then in full development, building Bloktopia in the Unity Engine, and we will be showing a regular transparent view of our development.

There are more tenants for us to onboard and commercial agreements to make. We will then be speeding up front-end development, Matic integration, testing all features, and pushing a closed beta version of our metaverse out by Q1 2022.

There's lots to do in a short space of time, as long as we get through the closed beta steps successfully - we are comfortable that our timelines are realistic.

Q: What major partnerships does your project intend to use, or how does your project bring its products to the average consumer - especially non-crypto users?

Paddy: This is a big, big focus for me. I am under several NDAs, so I can't be specific, but we are having conversations with some major brands. I spoke to a huge Premier League football club this morning. Brands are approaching us outside of the crypto space because they find the sector so ubiquitous and can see that we are trying to solve that issue.

Q: Marketing is a central element for every project, so that everyone knows the potential that a project can bring is vital to achieving the goals set. What is your strategy to attract new users and investors to your platform and keep them long-term?

Paddy: Given my background, I have to answer this one! Our growth plan has three parts.

- Create a brand positioned to meet the needs of our customers and to challenge the status quo.

- Build up hype in the crypto community to attract and grow an active base of daily users.

- Bring all major crypto brands into Bloktopia. Make it a place to come for unique and exclusive content.

There are lots of outputs under those three headlines. But I think that if we can deliver them all successfully, we will be in a great position.

Q: Is your platform global, or is there any restriction to certain regions?

Paddy: It will be a global product and will be free to enter for everyone.

Q: What are the steps to become a part of your community and start getting revenues? Where do we buy, where do we sign up? This looks like an amazing project!

Paddy: Join us on Telegram, and keep an eye out for our announcements. You will get all of the information that you need there!

Q: What is your strongest advantage that you think will make your team lead the market?

Paddy: Well, I think that our proposition is unique. But also, we have great contacts, huge partners, people wanting to help us, and a blend of experience that we hope will help to really make this a success.

Q: Smart contracts are susceptible to failure, and many projects fall victim to this, costing users money and discrediting the project. How reliable and secure is your smart contract? Have you tested it through any of the parties?

Paddy: Yes, we do regular tests with Zokyo, performing at 100/100. We also audit our NFTs through our supplier Venly. Security is top of our priority list.

Q: Many new projects make a good impression at first but are suddenly abandoned. My question is, how will you manage the project and the token to get a position in the market and become the best token in the crypto world?

Paddy: I think that it is more about focusing on the brand. If we meet our vision and our ambitions to become the home of crypto as outlined in my marketing plan - the token price should look after itself.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to share or you want us to know?

Paddy: Just in general, I saw a few people asking where to buy BLOK. And of course, the answer to that is KuCoin!
