Kampanat “Jom” Vimolnoht was Thailand’s crypto VC golden boy. Then he allegedly ran one of the boldest fake allocation scams CT has seen. Here’s how it unfolded: • Perfect resume: UK master’s, decade in VC, ex-musician turned Web3 insider, speaker at Singapore FinTech Festival 2024. • Managing Director at KXVC - Kasikornbank’s $100M Web3/AI venture fund. • Fired in March 2025… but reportedly kept the role on LinkedIn, which helped maintain credibility. Then the pitch started. • July-Nov 2025: offered personal allocations in hot projects like Monad, Babylon, Linera. • Targeted friends, founders, and investors across Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, and the U.S. • Sent professional contracts, decks, and payment instructions. Some allegedly edited from real KXVC documents. Money started moving. • Investors wired anywhere from ~$20K to over $1M each. • Funds sent via bank transfers and USDC. • Total losses across victims: millions of dollars. The story held until vesting dates approached. • Oct 2025: tokens supposed to unlock. • Excuses followed. “admin delays,” “counterparty issues,” even claims he himself had been scammed. Then he disappeared. • Nov 2025: Telegram account deleted. • Communication stopped entirely. • One wallet tied to the scheme moved about $1.71M in stablecoins. Victims began contacting the projects. The responses were brutal. • Monad reportedly called the contracts fraudulent. • Babylon said it had no association with him. Police reports were filed. Now: • Vimolnoht’s location is unknown. • Some sources think he may have left Thailand. • KXVC posted a warning about an “impersonator soliciting funds to personal accounts.” Crypto loves the idea of exclusive access. But sometimes the allocation isn’t exclusive. It just doesn’t exist.
