PANews, March 6: Xiaomi today officially announced Xiaomi miclaw, a small step in Xiaomi’s exploration of AI agents. Built on Xiaomi’s MiMo large model, it is an AI interaction testing product now entering limited closed testing. According to Xiaomi’s official description, Xiaomi miclaw enables the phone to act as a tool for AI—after understanding user intent and receiving authorization, it can invoke third-party apps and ecosystem capabilities, as well as autonomously select system-level tools to complete user commands. It can also continuously grow by adjusting its behavior and expanding its capabilities, ultimately storing learned experiences through a memory system to become increasingly attuned to the user over time. As a cutting-edge exploratory product, its stability, power consumption performance, and success rate in complex scenarios are still under active optimization. Some highly complex tasks may experience fluctuations in execution efficiency or intermittent failures. The announcement states that this closed test is not open to public recruitment and operates on an invitation-only basis. Xiaomi does not recommend upgrading primary daily-use devices; instead, tech enthusiasts and heavy AI users are advised to back up their data in advance and test the feature in a controlled environment. Users granted access will receive a specific system update and must upgrade to use Xiaomi miclaw. This closed test is currently supported only on the following models: Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17.
