The Huoxing Finance report states that on August 29, ChangXin Technology officially announced the mass production of its independently developed latest-generation low-power memory, LPDDR6, which will be first deployed in the Xiaomi 18 Fold flagship foldable phone. According to available information, this marks the first commercial deployment of LPDDR6 products globally, signifying that Chinese memory companies have broken the long-standing dominance of overseas manufacturers in high-end memory standards for the first time. ChangXin’s semi-annual report reveals that the performance of its LPDDR6 chip has seen comprehensive improvements over the previous generation LPDDR5X: through architectural innovation and optimized data transmission technologies, the chip fully unlocks its data transmission potential, achieving a peak speed of 12800 Mbps and a maximum capacity of 16 GB. LPDDR6 is the latest international generation of LPDDR products; the international standards organization JEDEC first released the LPDDR6 standard in July 2025, and rumors of ChangXin’s LPDDR6 product being submitted for testing emerged in March this year. ChangXin successfully achieved the global first-mover launch of LPDDR6, progressing from aligning with the standard, sample submission, validation, to mass production and commercialization. Under the trend of exploding AI demand, LPDDR6 is regarded as a critical pillar for unlocking edge-side AI computing power, with applications spanning smartphones, PCs, and extending to intelligent cockpits and AI data centers, laying a crucial foundation for domestic terminal manufacturers such as Chinese smartphones to seize AI opportunities.
