The Huoxing Finance report states that on September 4, AMC CEO Adam Aron responded to Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev, saying that concerns over AMC stock tokens "almost relate to the company's survival." He questioned why Robinhood, as a U.S. company, could issue a product ostensibly representing AMC but not complying with U.S. securities laws through an offshore operating entity based in Jersey. Adam Aron stated that AMC spends millions of dollars annually to comply with U.S. securities laws, and Robinhood’s creation of a “synthetic equity market” could decouple stock token trading from listed companies’ financing arrangements. Traditional shareholders enjoy rights such as voting, but he believes stock tokens do not represent actual equity, and investors cannot obtain corresponding shareholder rights. Adam Aron requested that Vlad Tenev and Robinhood voluntarily cease trading AMC stock tokens; otherwise, AMC has already engaged external securities lawyers to investigate whether legal measures can be taken to force them to stop. He also stated that he would raise inquiries with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission regarding Robinhood’s practices. Previously, it was reported that AMC’s CEO posted this morning that Robinhood is advancing a project involving tokenization of real-world assets and stock tokens for AMC and over 190 other companies. He stated that AMC has no connection to this project, does not endorse such practices, and will immediately request external securities lawyers to review the matter. Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev responded that there is no need for concern.
