Esports is already doing 80% of NHL's trading volume latest data from @DocsSports shows esports average volume *per game* is creeping up But Esports also has way more matches than the NFL # of listed matches : - NFL : 285 - League of Legends : 445 - Counter Strike 2 : 962 - Dota 2 : 358 So when adjusting for # of games we have the following volumes : - NFL : 1.4$B - Esports (LoL + CS + Dota) : 1.2$B Sports betting is a highly competitive industry with Syndicates that operate like quant desks on 9 figures budgets. Esports is about to get just as big and is essentially devoid of any institutional competition. It's a blue ocean ! If you are looking for a trading niche to specialize in, I would highly recommend investing so time in Esports

A Massachusetts man bet $12,950 on a hole DraftKings accidentally created in its own system. It paid him $934,147.83. DraftKings tried to cancel most of it. Regulators said no. – On October 15, 2025, during Game 3 of the MLB ALCS between the Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners – A DraftKings trader misclassified Blue Jays outfielder Nathan Lukes as a "non-participant" in the company's internal trading system. – That error disabled the safeguard meant to stop customers from stacking correlated versions of the same bet into one parlay. – It meant a bettor could combine Lukes' hit totals, 5+, 6+, 7+, and 8+ hits in the series, all inside a single ticket, each leg priced as if it were independent. – A Massachusetts customer found the gap and placed 27 parlays totaling $12,950, several of them padded further with unrelated college football and NFL favorites. – Lukes finished the seven-game series with nine hits. Twenty-four of the 27 parlays hit. – DraftKings owed him $934,147.83. – DraftKings froze the tickets and asked the Massachusetts Gaming Commission for permission to void most of it – Offering to pay roughly $96,000 instead and calling the bettor's actions "unethical." – On December 18, 2025, the commission rejected that argument outright, noting the error was entirely internal to DraftKings, not caused by any outside data feed. – One commissioner put it plainly: "It's the cost of doing business." – The vote was unanimous, 5-0. DraftKings was ordered to pay the full $934,147.83. He found a hole DraftKings built into its own system, bet directly into it, and won. DraftKings tried to rewrite the outcome after the fact. Regulators told them the mistake was theirs to keep.

🚨UPDATE: Wall Street’s interest in prediction markets isn’t slowing down. ICE, the parent company of @NYSE, is open to putting more capital into @Polymarket as the platform continues to expand its role in financial markets. ICE is also positioned to distribute Polymarket’s event-driven data to institutional investors, giving the prediction market a growing connection to traditional financial infrastructure.

Prediction markets just hit the part of crypto that can't be memed away. Kalshi being blocked in multiple states while the CFTC works with prediction market operators is the signal. This isn't just a fight over one app, it's a fight over who gets to define an event contract, who can offer it, and whether state regulators still have a veto. If you trade onchain, you should care because prediction markets are becoming financial infrastructure, not a side casino. I read this as the same pressure behind tokenized stocks, stablecoin payouts, and RWAs: distribution is moving faster than the legal and settlement systems underneath it. The “paper crisis” warning matters because putting a stock onchain doesn't fix bad reconciliation, fragmented liquidity, or unclear ownership. I keep coming back to the same issue, the wrapper gets marketed first and the failure mode gets discovered later. → Kalshi faces state restrictions as the CFTC tries to coordinate a path for prediction markets → Tokenized stocks risk recreating Wall Street's settlement and paperwork failures → The Sandbox paused Base and BNB Chain bridging after unbacked SAND was minted → Solana (@solana) activated 350 millisecond slots, while AI driven security work scans Bitcoin code for flaws My builder read is simple: speed is becoming cheap, but reliable exits, pause controls, solvency proofs, and clear jurisdiction are still hard. It’s actually good that UFC matches start while I’m sleeping, otherwise I might’ve lost a trade on @Polymarket. Because look at this guy: He turned $27 into $429 with a 2-leg combo. And the wildest part? He picked fighters who had just a 23% chance of winning. Both fighters were underdogs, yet both hit. Sometimes UFC really is unpredictable lol.
