Base launching the "base chain" is a huge blow on the superchain eco. The base chain has been an integral part of the Optimism superchain for about three years, and it has acquired the most robust stats amongst every other L2s on the Optimism stack. The base L2 TVL covers for over 90% of the TVL on the superchain eco. NGL, this is extremely bearish for the $OP token but very bullish for Base as they can ship independently without having to wait for general updates from the stack. I also feel like they might lauch their token when the L2 goes live. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out. Fingers crossed!
