The Huoxing Finance report states that on June 6, the U.S. Central Command said that, on Friday local time in Iran, seven ballistic missiles were launched toward Kuwait and Bahrain; the U.S. military successfully intercepted six of them, while one missed its target. Additionally, earlier that day, the U.S. military shot down four Iranian drones heading toward the Strait of Hormuz, followed by strikes on certain Iranian coastal surveillance radar facilities to prevent further attacks. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that its targets included the Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, where U.S. forces are stationed, and the U.S. Fifth Fleet in Bahrain. The Kuwaiti military confirmed its participation in intercepting incoming missiles and drones, while Bahrain issued air raid alerts. Despite ongoing exchanges of fire, Trump stated that “the situation in Iran appears to be going quite well,” asserting that the U.S. will “very soon resolve the Iran issue,” whether through diplomatic agreements or stronger measures. Trump also revealed that Iran still retains approximately 21%-22% of its missile inventory. Previously, U.S. and Iranian negotiators had reached a preliminary agreement to extend the ceasefire by 60 days and initiate new nuclear talks; however, due to Trump’s demands for amendments to the agreement, Iran has not publicly accepted it, leaving the fragile ceasefire under continued pressure. Meanwhile, the U.S. continues to intensify pressure on Iran, maintaining its blockade of Iranian ports, boarding a sanctioned oil tanker linked to Iran in the Indian Ocean, and announcing new sanctions against individuals, companies, and tankers associated with Iran’s energy sector. Additionally, although the Lebanese government and Israel recently signed a ceasefire agreement under U.S. mediation, Hezbollah has refused to accept the arrangement. Israeli forces continued airstrikes on multiple areas in southern Lebanon on Friday and ordered residents of nine villages to evacuate, resulting in at least nine deaths. Analysts believe that escalating tensions in Lebanon could further impact Iran’s ceasefire negotiations and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
