🌍 11/2 California · Oil Crash → U.S. Stocks Go Risk-On, But BTC Doesn’t Follow, Undergoing Independent Leverage Reduction [Macro Environment] Monday: U.S. Stocks Flip to Risk-On 🟢 Major indices surged intraday by over +1%: S&P 5,647 (+0.88%), Dow 52,377 (+1.17%), Nasdaq 25,735 (+1.17%), rebounding sharply from Friday’s “worst October ever” slump 🟢 Amazon +5%, Nasdaq China Golden Dragon +3.77% (XPeng +8%), Russell 2000 +1.1% → Broad risk appetite recovery 🟢 VIX at 18.16 (-6.5%), back below 19; 10Y U.S. Treasury yield at 4.90% (-0.55%), continuing to decline 🔥 Catalyst: Oil collapse alleviates inflation and rate hike fears; however, AI valuation concerns persist (Anthropic Q3 net loss of $23.3B, OpenAI valuation slashed to $1.25T, ECB explicitly states “AI valuations are clearly excessive”) [International Developments & Transmission] 📉 WTI crude at $96.4 (-5.6%), Brent at $105 (-6%) → Iran’s Supreme Leader “authorizes government negotiations” + “two-day plan” to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, abruptly cutting geopolitical risk premium 🟢 Gold at $3,957 (+2.07% / +$80), silver rallies → Oil drop + falling yields trigger rebound from Friday’s sharp decline 🔴 USD/JPY at 157.9 (JPY remains weak ~158) → Carry trade and liquidity pressures unresolved ⚠️ Risks not fully resolved: Trump has notified Gulf allies to prepare for a possible “brief, intense strike” on Iran on 11/4 (the day after the midterm elections); Netanyahu urges immediate action post-election 🧭 Four macro signals turned bullish today: 🟢 Oil down / 🟢 10Y at 4.90% / 🟢 Gold up / 🟡 JPY weak → Three easing, one bearish; risk-off sentiment significantly loosened (under the “war priced as rate hikes” framework: oil drop = fading rate hike expectations = bullish for risk assets) 🇨🇳 China A-share market stabilization confirmed: Repo and refinancing programs converted into long-term policy with rate cut from 1.25% to 1%; on 11/3, securities/funds/insurers begin swap facility operations (applications exceed $100B); CSRC optimizes market-stabilizing repurchase rules [Crypto Multi-Timeframe Technicals] 💰 Current prices: BTC $77,600 / ETH $2,276 / SOL $93.6 🔴 Key divergence: Stock and oil markets are risk-on, yet BTC declined overnight and over the past 1–4 hours, with all liquidations being longs → Crypto failed to follow macro reversal, still undergoing internal deleveraging 🔵 BTC: Daily RSI at 37.7 (oversold), moving averages bearishly entangled, daily MACD bearish momentum converging (histogram rising); 4H MACD histogram turned positive (+93) → Weak rebound signal emerging, but volume remains extremely thin (volume ratio 0.01–0.14) 🟡 ETH: 4H chart shifted to “bullish consolidation” (mavg turned bullish, price above Bollinger midline, OBV rising) → First among three to stabilize; however, daily RSI still at 38.6, bearish 🔴 SOL: Weakest of the three — 15m/1H/4H all bearish alignment, daily RSI at 32.8 (deeply oversold), no reversal signals 🧭 Conclusion: Daily bearish trend intact; 4H shows oversold bounce signal but with negligible volume → “Volume-depleted recovery,” not trend reversal; until BTC holds $78K with volume, this remains an oversold rebound [Derivatives] 🟡 Funding rates all mildly positive (+0.009% to +0.010%/8h), no extremes: BTC/ETH/SOL show no extreme positioning 💥 24h liquidations: BTC $50.7M (longs $21.3M / shorts $29.4M), ETH $43.8M, SOL $9.8M (mostly longs $7.6M) 🔻 Over past 1–4 hours: Long positions were liquidated as sentiment turned bullish — BTC 1H long liquidations $9.3M ≫ shorts $0.35M; ETH 1H long liquidations $6.3M ≫ shorts $0.25M → Overnight drop washed out leveraged longs 🔵 Total BTC open interest at $53.4B; 5m/15m slightly declined → New capital remains on the sidelines [BTC Core Indicators] 🔴 Spot premium at -0.16% / -$121 (institutional buying still net selling; slightly improved from -0.20% yesterday) 😱 Fear & Greed Index at 38 (Fear zone; improved from 35 yesterday) 🎲 DVOL at 46.1 (implied volatility neutral to low) 🎯 Max Pain: 11/3 expiry $78,000 (≈ current price, magnetically pinned), 11/4 $78,000, 11/5 $77,500, 11/6 $79,000 [Synthesis] 🟢 Bullish factors: Three of four macro signals turned easing (oil crash / 10Y below 5% / gold rebound), U.S. stocks risk-on, A-share market support policies implemented, BTC daily deeply oversold + 4H MACD turned positive + leveraged longs liquidated (fueling potential short squeeze) 🔴 Bearish factors: BTC failed to rally with macro → Crypto weakening independently; volume ratio of 0.01–0.14 indicates unconvincing rebound; AI deleveraging incomplete; JPY weakness; Iran strike window on 11/4 remains a true tail risk (actual strike → oil rebounds → re-pricing as rate hike → gold and BTC both fall) 🧩 Core insight: Macro backdrop is loosening (oil drop is genuine tailwind), but crypto is still digesting its own leverage — macro tailwinds have not yet translated into price action → “Others rise while you don’t” is a warning sign of a false rally👉 Trend: BTC is likely to consolidate near the Max Pain level of $78K; a confirmed reversal requires volume-backed breakout above $79K. Tuesday’s midterm elections + Wednesday’s 11/4 strike window + Friday’s NFP = dense event risk zone. Favorable macro tailwinds do not justify full positioning. 【Today’s Trading Recommendations (Price-Based)】 🔵 BTC: $78K is the Max Pain magnet zone; only look for $81–82K if price holds above $79K with volume. Otherwise, daily bearish trend remains intact → any bounce is a zone for reducing exposure or testing shorts. A break below $76.5K (Thursday’s panic low) targets $74K. 🟢 Bullish traders: Only accumulate between $76–76.5K, stop-loss below daily close of $74.8K, targets $79K / $82K. Avoid naked shorts in oversold zones (longs just liquidated in past 1–4h; risk of short squeeze). 🔴 Bearish traders: Wait for unconvincing bounce to $80.5–81.5K before initiating shorts, stop-loss above $83K, target $76K. 🔴 ETH: 4H structure just stabilized; $2,200–2,220 is the bullish accumulation zone (invalidated if daily close below $2,100). Better shorting zone emerges at $2,380–2,430 on bounce. ⚖️ Discipline: Dense event risk (Tuesday election / Wednesday strike window / Friday NFP). Reduce leverage, avoid chasing entries. Strong macro tailwinds with crypto failing to follow = avoid FOMO longs. 【⚠️ This Week’s Risk Events】 📅 11/2 Mon: A-share market support policy implemented (bullish) / US October S&P Manufacturing PMI final 54.9 (below forecast 56) / Evening ISM Manufacturing 📅 11/3 Tue: 🗳️ US Midterm Elections / Central Bank Securities Fund & Insurance Swap Facility Operations / RBA Rate Decision / BTC Options Expiry at $78K 📅 11/4 Wed: ⚔️ Iran Strike Window (day after midterm elections; Trump has ordered Gulf allies to prepare) / US October ADP 📅 11/5 Thu: BoE Rate Decision (expected hike to 4.00%) / US ISM Non-Manufacturing 📅 11/6 Fri: US October Non-Farm Payrolls (expected +65K) + Unemployment Rate 4.2% / Michigan Consumer Sentiment 🔥 Variables: Iran negotiations vs. 11/4 strike — binary outcome | Aftermath of AI valuation anxiety | Strength of A-share policy implementation ━━━━━━━━━━ 【Midday Update (11:30 PT)】 📉 US equities midday slowdown (2h to close): Dow 52,198 (+0.83%) supported by defensive/value stocks; S&P 7,587 (+0.09%) erases early gains to flat; Nasdaq 25,401 (-0.14%) reverses to negative; VIX 20.07 (+3.35%) back above 20. Do not guess BTC’s bottom during low-volume decline — wait for volume confirmation of direction. Do not go full position before 11/3 election + 11/4 Iran strike window + 11/6 NFP — preserve capital. $BTC #ETH #SOL #Crypto — DrHash Research

On November 2, Brent crude fell nearly 9% intraday, nearing $100. On the same day, U.S. forces struck Iran’s Qeshm Island. Trump seems determined to prevent oil prices from returning to the double digits. On the same day, during a podcast on the New York Post, the host asked: “If the Democrats take control of the House after the midterm elections and launch an investigation into Musk, what will he do?” Trump replied that he would be willing to preemptively pardon Musk and others if necessary. Don’t forget to pardon family members who have helped you profit in the crypto space.

Hours after claims that Iran and the U.S. had entered a ceasefire process, they fired at each other again. This conflict, like the Russia-Ukraine war, appears set to drag on for years, keeping oil prices elevated and maintaining pressure on markets.

avatar

In this environment, whether it’s the U.S. stock market or crypto, wouldn’t it be better to focus on spot trading? Historically, in the medium to long term, the U.S. stock market has a very high probability of rising in the year following midterm elections, and crypto is also transitioning from a bear to a bull market. But aren’t there already plenty of short-term disruptions—hacks, midterm elections, U.S.-Iran tensions, oil prices? Everyone knows that wealth comes from taking risks—that’s true. But what about the second half? Wealth comes from risk—but so does loss! You succeed in one out of ten attempts, but fail in nine out of ten.

For six months, oil was the chart everyone checked first. Every move mattered, and every headline about it moved markets. Then, almost overnight, nobody cared. @andyyy asked @jimiuorio whether the midterms are driving this market or whether it’s the AI rotation. Jim’s answer was clear. “I think the AI rotation and the AI wobble is by far the bigger deal.” What fascinated him was how fast attention shifted. As soon as worries about AI and lending markets showed up, oil dropped off everyone’s radar. “If all of a sudden the house is starting to burn in the AI lending markets, this is a far bigger issue.”

avatar

Today’s thoughts. Oil getting smoked. SPX back below 7,600. The early semis bounce faded, while momentum names are still being sold. What stands out is how little AI is getting from lower yields. Cheaper money alone isn’t enough to bring buyers back. Equal weight and small caps were holding up better on my last check. There’s still a market outside the AI trade. BTC keeps grinding lower and alts are losing ground against it. Not the response you’d want with yields falling and the dollar softer on the day. Tomorrow is midterms. A consensus outcome doesn’t guarantee a clean market reaction. I’m skeptical of how much diplomatic progress oil is pricing in. Talks are ongoing, but there’s no breakthrough yet. That’s different from saying every headline is bullshit. Also wouldn’t call lower yields a pure growth scare. Oil is taking inflation pressure off but mostly it’s running into ssfe heaven aka long bonds. Oil interests me for a tactical bounce if it stabilizes. The risk to that trade is straightforward: real diplomatic progress could take more premium out. For a longer horizon, I’m looking for cash-generative businesses at sensible prices. In crypto, $HYPE stays on my watchlist.
