XRP fee debate intensifies

Oct 5, Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz criticized proposals to raise XRP Ledger fees to boost burn rates, arguing it would add user friction.

Hong Kong is operating as Beijing’s controlled crypto sandbox, and the XRP Ledger is already wired into it. OSL, an SFC-licensed exchange, opened XRP to retail investors in July 2026 after an earlier professional-only listing; deposits and withdrawals settle on the XRP Ledger. Linklogis, a Hong Kong-listed Chinese supply-chain fintech, is using XRPL for trade-finance tokenization. Of 36 stablecoin-issuer applications under Hong Kong’s new regime, only two have been licensed so far. Mainland crypto trading remains banned since 2021. Any broader reopening is still a forecast, not policy. The rails, however, are already inside the test lab. #XRP #XRPL #HongKong #Stablecoins

Somehow... the old #XRP critics were constantly clashing with long-time supporters, but today’s critics just seem kind of weak... Could it be that they’re just some skinny, inexperienced Gen Z critics? 🙄

🚨 RIPPLE IS PUSHING XRP DEEPER INTO CREDIT MARKETS Ripple President Monica Long has unveiled an XRP credit pilot at an event in Seoul, targeting lending pools that could give payment companies access to short-term funding using $XRP as collateral. If the pilot succeeds, Ripple plans to expand the initiative beyond the testing phase in 2027. This could open another major use case for XRP beyond payments, connecting the asset to institutional liquidity and credit markets. The bigger picture? $XRP could be moving toward becoming more than just a bridge asset. It could increasingly play a role in institutional financing and liquidity. #XRP #Ripple #Crypto #DeFi #Blockchain

💥 Two XRPL amendments are about to go live in the next few days: Batch (XLS-56) and Permission Delegation (XLS-75). Batch means a payment and the thing you’re paying for can settle in the same moment. You hand over the asset, they hand over the cash, or neither happens. No “I sent the money and they disappeared.” That’s delivery versus payment, built into the ledger instead of bolted on later. Permission Delegation means a bank or company can let a payments team or app move money day to day without ever handing over the master keys. Staff get the till. The vault stays locked. For a normal person, that is just safer trades and a network institutions can actually use without sharing the password to the whole account. Unsexy plumbing. The kind real payments run on.

Using $XRP as a bridge asset does not require holding it for months: it can enter and exit within the same payment. Therefore, higher volume could enhance utility and liquidity, but the impact on price will depend on net demand and market depth, not just the number of transactions.

The XRP Ledger is leading in financial primitive development. Native on the protocol level ready out of the box. Over the next 67 hours, the XRP Ledger is set to activate the Batch and Permission Delegation amendments. Batch enables atomic settlement, including delivery versus payment (DvP). Permission Delegation enables institutional account management without sharing signing keys. Batch was initially proposed in 2023, P Delegation in 2024 and since then carefully crafted and refined by hand 🤚. Very much ahead of the curve.
