Data center power challenges

June 2026, Moody’s warned data center expansion raises credit risks for public entities due to electricity and water demands. 14 states consider moratoriums.

$AAVE is showing strong recovery after sweeping the downside liquidity near $94.

Price has reclaimed the short term EMA cluster and buyers are stepping in aggressively. The structure is shifting back in favor of bulls as long as support around $88 $90 holds.

A clean breakout above $92 can open the way toward $96 $100 resistance zones.

Momentum is rebuilding. Bulls are back in control.

$DUCK is flying! +17% move and bulls are clearly stepping in.

Higher lows are forming after the breakout momentum remains strong.

If buyers keep control, this one could continue pushing higher. 🦆🔥

$KOMA is recovering strongly after forming a base near the lows.

The breakout candle showed clear buyer dominance, and price is now consolidating above the previous resistance area.

As long as KOMA holds above $0.012 $0.013, bulls remain in control.

A push through $0.026 resistance could bring another momentum wave.

🏠 Andreessen Horowitz-Backed Base Power Bypasses Grid Delays With Distributed Home Batteries 1. Climate tech startup Base Power is circumventing the massive interconnection queue backlog by deploying distributed battery systems directly at residential homes. 2. The company provides cheaper electricity to homeowners while simultaneously offering critical stabilized power back to the constrained electrical grid. 3. This distributed energy model allows the startup to rapidly scale capacity without waiting years for traditional utility-scale infrastructure approvals. Bobbi thinks: Base Power's strategy perfectly illustrates how decentralized residential storage can rapidly solve acute grid bottlenecks while utility-scale projects remain mired in regulatory purgatory. The most efficient Bitcoin miner in the world has no fans. It runs on water. That's hydro mining: a sealed water loop pulls heat straight off the chips, so there's no fan roar. The payoff is real, around 50 dB instead of 85, just 9.5 J/TH, 3-5x denser, and hardware that runs cooler and lasts longer. The catch with hydro mining is the room, not the miner. It needs three-phase power and a radiator, not a bedroom, which is exactly why most people host it instead of running it at home. #Bitcoin #HydroMining #BitcoinMining #ASIC #Millionminer

The Ireland data centre debate was interesting because it wasn't really about data centres. It was about local communities asking: Why should we carry the costs? That theme is spreading. Not anti-AI. Not anti-Bitcoin. Anti-externality. That's a much newer conversation.

The Bitcoin vs AI debate is starting to look less like a narrative debate and more like an infrastructure debate. For years, Bitcoin mining was mostly discussed through hash rate, energy use and network security. Now the same sites, power contracts and data center experience are becoming relevant to another market: AI compute. That changes the frame. AI companies need power, cooling, locations and operational expertise. Bitcoin miners already spent years learning how to secure energy, run large-scale hardware and operate under thin-margin conditions. Some of that infrastructure can now be re-rated for AI and high-performance computing. This does not mean Bitcoin mining disappears into AI. It means the market is starting to price mining infrastructure differently. Energy access, grid relationships and data center execution may become as important as hash rate itself. The interesting question is not “Bitcoin or AI?” It is which operators can understand both sides of the infrastructure stack.

ICYMI our 'Powering America' space 🎙 we went deep on the real cost of the AI boom. The big takeaway: the data center buildout isn't just a tech story, it's forcing a hard look at the entire US power grid, water resources, and even how we build homes. The solutions are out there, but the inertia is real. Great conversation, we'll be back in here soon.
