Nasdaq data feed officially integrated into DeFi; Ostium becomes the first on-chain platform offering perpetual contracts on individual U.S. stocks. Users can trade U.S. equities 24/7 with transparency, self-custody, and instant settlement. This is not merely a technical integration, but a structural connection between Wall Street’s data pipelines and on-chain financial infrastructure.
Since its launch in 2024, Ostium has累计 achieved over $50 billion in trading volume, serving more than 26,000 users, with current open interest at approximately $91.6 million. According to Stork Labs, stock perpetuals accounted for nearly 20% of RWA perpetual trading volume last week. Prior to Cerebras’ IPO, its on-chain perpetual contract prices closely mirrored the Nasdaq opening price.
This marks Nasdaq’s second foray into on-chain financial infrastructure in the past two months, following its collaboration with Kraken’s parent company to develop infrastructure for tokenized equities. The convergence of traditional financial data sources with DeFi is accelerating, as on-chain pricing power extends from cryptocurrencies to traditional assets.
However, caution is warranted: the high leverage of on-chain perpetuals may amplify volatility, and reliance on a single centralized data provider introduces single points of failure. Additionally, regulatory frameworks remain unclear, and the SEC’s stance on tokenized stocks is still uncertain.
