An overheated bond market can weigh on stocks and crypto, as high yields in safe-haven assets reduce the appeal of risk. When investors see an opportunity to earn relatively "risk-free" returns, some liquidity naturally flows out of stocks, crypto, and other risk-on assets into bonds or the money market. This is a normal phase of the market cycle: capital moves where the risk-reward profile appears more favorable. Yet these periods often present the best opportunities to accumulate before the next risk-on rally.

Global bond markets are flashing red again. Latest 10Y yield levels, roughly: - U.S. Treasury: ~4.63% - Japan JGB: ~2.75–2.80% - UK Gilt: ~5.13–5.19% - German Bund: ~3.14–3.18% Rising yields = falling bond prices. Markets are repricing inflation, fiscal deficits, heavier bond supply, and the risk that rates stay higher for longer.🧵

The S&P 500 is in the euphoria phase. Every market cycle follows the same path—from takeoff to despair. After 15 years, the S&P 500 has reached the most dangerous point in the cycle. It’s dangerous because the ensuing sell-off is always sharp and unexpected. And overheating signals are already appearing: Prices continue to rise, but volume is declining. Retail investment inflows have hit multi-year highs. The Buffett Indicator shows extreme overvaluation. Everyone believes the rally has only just begun. If you’re one of those still convinced the upward trend is endless— Take a breath. Impulse is followed by denial; denial is followed by surrender. The cycle doesn’t care about your beliefs!

Japan bond yields are rising very fast right now. This is not just Japan’s problem - it can affect the whole world. If Japan keeps selling U.S. Treasuries to manage its economy, global liquidity can get weaker. U.S. Treasuries are the backbone of the global financial system. If pressure on Treasuries keeps increasing, markets and risk assets may eventually start falling. A Japan bond problem can slowly turn into a global financial problem.

US stocks lost over $1T today.
S&P down 1.25%, Nasdaq down 1.54%. The bigger issue is the bond market. Treasury yields are rising because global buyers are slowly stepping away from US debt.
Japan is selling, China is reducing exposure, and Gulf countries are diversifying. When bond markets have fewer buyers, stocks start feeling the pressure next.
