Hi Dori, good points.
In Leios, InputBlocks will be minted at a high frequency. This can serve as "preconfirmations" if we want to have a fast UX (final confirmation will come with RankingBlock). It is possible to develop this model further, but total throughput may still be a limitation.
Ultra-fast settlement and high throughput will always be an advantage of L2s, which blockchains will have a hard time competing with (maybe Solana can).
I agree that Hydra makes sense for this and other use cases, if people are willing to trust Hydra Head operators and realize the risks associated with it.
Regarding Treasury funding, it is a complex question.
We can try to be like Solana, so deliver full parallel Leios after Linear Leios. Then we can consider sharding (the UTxO model is suitable for this). Or we can try to be like Ethereum. We can support L2s together with higher L1 throughput.
Maybe the second way is better from a decentralization point of view and less complexity. There are other aspects like time to market, costs, etc.
Of course, we can build both, but it can be expensive.
