I find the bearishness toward Tesla, SpaceX and xAI fascinating. Some of it reads like resentment from people who never made money alongside these companies. I have my bias. I’m exposed to their success, I’ve benefited from it, and I’ll continue backing the businesses. That doesn’t mean endorsing everything Elon says or does. I wish he’d stayed out of politics. But I think people underestimate the ambition: energy, telecommunications, AI and transportation, operating at enormous scale. My thesis around a potential Tesla–SpaceX combination is that voting power and control would be central to it. He wants the authority to move faster. Shorting these businesses because you dislike the man strikes me as painfully shortsighted. Their capabilities matter to America’s competitive position. That dependence is part of his leverage. As for his family, I’m not going to tell a man how to process what he describes as losing his relationship with his child. Those are deeply personal circumstances I’m in no position to judge. I can distance myself from Elon’s politics and still support what these companies are building. Anyways, good luck, everyone. This country feels more divided than I’ve ever seen it.
